8 Simple Games to Play on Thanksgiving

I cannot believe that it is time for Thanksgiving! These last 2 years have been pretty intense for everyone. It is safe to say that we are all feeling the weight of the world. With the seriousness of what is going on “out there”, I find it so important to create intentional opportunities for laughter and light-heartedness in our homes. As Christians, our joy is not based on circumstances. We can laugh and love in spite of our circumstances because our hope is in God alone.

Play one of these simple games and have some fun this Thanksgiving!

Don’t Eat Tom Turkey

Thanksgiving Charades

Turkey Sculptures

Make a batch of chocolate playdough (recipe HERE). Give a small pile to each guest. Set out a tray with craft feathers and googly eyes and other craft bits that might be useful. Challenge everyone to create their best turkey. Award the winner with a prize.

Name that Turkey Tune

Have each player take turns crooning familiar songs, replacing all the lyrics with the word Gobble. Choose a category for each round (Christmas carols, Beatles tunes, or TV theme songs, for example) and see who among the non-warbling guests can be the first to make out each melody.

Turkey Hunt
