THANK YOU TO CHESAPEAKE BAY CANDLE FOR SPONSORING TODAY’S POST. ALL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ARE 100% MY OWN!
Valentine’s Day is coming up and I love finding simple ways to love my family and others throughout the season.
The ideas that I am sharing with you today to have fun with the people you love all involve a CANDLE. Because let’s be honest — fire is cool. And fire combined with an intoxicating fragrance, a beautiful jar, and a meaningful tradition will create a Valentine’s Day your loved ones will remember forever!
Here are 5 ways a candle will light up your world and the world of others on February 14th…
Candle of Honor Tradition
Plan to have a special family dinner together on Valentine’s Day. Set the table with fancy plates and napkins and serve a meal everyone loves. When it’s time for everyone to come to the table, dim the lights. One by one, go around the table and light a candle in front of each person, having family members speak words of love and affirmation to the person whose candle is being lit. At the end of this powerful time, the room will be glowing with reminders that kindness and love lights up darkness. “Honor one another…” Romans 12:10
Date-Night In with the Hubs
Going out for a date on Valentine’s Day can end up being a hassle as you encounter heavy crowds and expensive menus/babysitter rates, but a simple evening at home can be just what you and your hubby need. Plan to make your hubby’s favorite dessert (my husband loves THESE), get those kiddos in bed early, and eat the treat by candlelight.
Emergency Romance Kit for a Friend
One of my favorite things to do for my married friends on Valentine’s Day is to give them an Emergency Romance Kit. I share all about this fun idea HERE.
Rose in the Morning
Wake your sweet kiddos up on Valentine’s Day morning with a lit candle and single rose on their bedroom dresser.
Teacher Gift
Having been a teacher myself for over 10 years, and now being an administrator of a team of amazing teachers, I marvel at the time and energy these precious people pour into their work and ministries. I know their to-do lists never end, so popping into their world with an expression of gratitude is such a joy of mine! Place a candle in a little gift bag and include a note that says, “Teacher, you light up my life! Happy Valentine’s Day!”
Not sure which candles would work best for these ideas?
I love the Love + Passion candle from Chesapeake Bay Candle’s Mind and Body Collection! It has a fruity/tropical scent that sets the mood for an evening of warmth and love with your kids and loved ones. The soft colored frosted jar allows the light of the flame to shine through when burning. The natural wooden lids add a special touch to the jar candles, making them a really lovely gift option.
Like all fragrances from the Chesapeake Bay Mind & Body collection, the Love + Passion scent is skillfully enriched with natural essential oils (holla to my oily people!) and made with soy blend wax that delivers a clean burn. The candle is designed and poured in the USA – something that is important to me!
You can purchase the large jar Love + Passion candle HERE and the medium jar HERE.
Which candle idea will you do this Valentine’s Day?
Joyfully,
Julie 🙂
