I love Easter morning! There is such a sweet anticipation and joy that comes on the morning of Christ’s resurrection.
When I was a little girl, my mom used to hide our Easter baskets and we would have to find them before heading out the door for church services.
She had some pretty fun ways to hide our baskets! I wanted to share a few of those ideas here in case you are inspired to hide your own baskets…
String Maze
One year we woke up and my mom had tied string to each of my brother’s and my bedroom doorknobs. We had to follow the string all through the house until it ended at our Easter basket. My older brother’s string went outside and we thought that was just the coolest thing ever. See an example of this idea HERE.
Puzzle Time
Purchase a small puzzle, put it together, and use a Sharpie to write your child’s Easter basket location on the puzzle. Then break the puzzle apart and put one piece each in plastic Easter eggs. Hide the eggs around the house. Have the kids hunt for the eggs on Easter morning, then put the puzzle together to discover the clue to find their baskets! See an example of this HERE.
Hot and Cold
When the kids wake up, play a game of Hot and Cold. When they are far away from the basket say, “Cold,” but when they are getting closer to finding the basket say, “You’re getting warmer…” or “HOT!” when they are right near it!
Candy Trail
Leave a trail of jellybeans leading to your child’s Easter basket.
Scavenger Hunt
This one is my favorite! Place clue cards in plastic Easter eggs, hide eggs and baskets in the correct locations, then let the kids loose! Not wanting to make your own clue cards? I happen to have TWO FREE Printable Easter Morning Scavenger Hunt Cards on my site! AND they are Christ-centered!
Find the Scavenger Hunt Cards HERE and HERE.
How do YOU do Easter baskets on Easter morning?
Joyfully,

Just had to thank you for all the cute holiday printables! I always end up using them for my kid’s teachers or for our Sunday School students. They are always a hit and I appreciate how easy it is to put together something so cute and meaningful. You have quite a talent for silly puns!

I love these ideas! Saving for next year and hoping I remember because we hide their baskets but 4 kids and now 2 Easters in this house and we are running out of good spots in the “common area” of the house… 😊
