Well, we go back to school in just a few weeks!
I have a mixture of feelings on the matter… Grief, denial, excitement…
I mentioned on Facebook recently that the school emailed me my class roster and I started to pray for my incoming little ones by name. What a joy to shepherd their hearts and change their diapers!
While I am thrilled to be back in the classroom, I just want to linger a bit longer in these summer months. I have loved being with my boys, staying up late because I know I don’t have to set my alarm at bedtime, thoughtfully planning grocery lists, making dinner, organizing our home, being able to have regular play dates with friends, and blog! It has been so lovely to stay somewhat regularly connected with y’all. I am afraid I might have to disappear for a bit once the crazy gets going!
Nonetheless, I am extremely pleased with the teacher Happy Buddy was assigned this year, so we are celebrating with an extra special countdown to school.
I grabbed a small jar and Happy Buddy counted out the amount of treats needed to have one each day leading up to his first day of Kindergarten.
No need to remind him to participate in this kind of countdown!
Eeek! Kindergarten! I can’t believe I have a Kindergartener. I think there is homework in Kindergarten! If I can’t even make dinner during the school year, then I don’t know if we’re going to survive this. 🙂
Do you go back to school soon?

First off….I LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog!! I have three little boys (5-3-1!) and love the encouragement I have found here! Our oldest starts KINDERGARDEN in two weeks! I have been reading scripture over him and privately about him, praying for his year, teacher, peers etc…faithfully all summer and as excited as I am I STILL have a heavy sadden heart! (I think I am equally happy for him as I am sad!!) I am not scared or worried I’m just plain sad about how much I will miss him! I thank God ALL the time I have been able to be a SAHM the past 5 years with him and cherished every moment! I even have been on a break from Facebook and Instagram the last two weeks just wanting to engage even more and not regret the little moments I would check or be posting on fb instead of waiting until they were asleep! Anyways if you have scriptures you use or techniques to share on mommy strength I would so appreciate it! Bless you Julie! You are amaze!!!

Hey Laurel! Oh, I just LOVE your precious heart! I love that you are fasting from social media to truly keep priorities in check these last few weeks – how inspiring! Mommy strength Bible verses… Oh there are so many! I always look to the Psalms… My favorite is Psalm 28:7, “The Lord is my strength and my shield, my heart trusts in Him and I am helped.” Love you, sister! Your son is very blessed to have you as his mama!
