It’s a…

Well, it’s the day after Thanksgiving and I still can’t say that I have ever made a turkey.

But I have definitely made a paper bag turkey!

One Charming Party’s creative kid’s table display inspired me this year as we planned to tell our family the gender of Baby #2.The Happy Hubby helped me make our paper bag turkey – but instead of stuffing it with popcorn, we stuffed it with a balloon the color of our baby’s gender. :-)

Then we took it to our Thanksgiving feast.I explained to the fam that by carving this turkey – they’d get to know who was in my tummy! So, we let the nieces and nephew have at it.

I mean, what kids under 12 ever get an opportunity to carve a turkey??

*No knives were used in the carving of our gender reveal turkey.  No one was hurt in the process either!* :-)Our nephew was pretty excited since he has been outnumbered for years. :-)The Happy Buddy is going to have a little brother!!!

We couldn’t be more thrilled!

I know you all have been praying for a girl for us, and as much as a little princess all covered in glitter and fairy wings would have been so magical – I have had this second boy in my heart for long time and have been praying for him by name for many months!

I am so excited that the Happy Buddy is going to have a little buddy to wrestle with, play in the mud with, and crash cars with. :-)

Now all I need to do is come up with a Blog Name for him!

The Happy Buddy is the Happy Buddy…so what should this little guy’s name be?? :-)Happy Thanksgiving from me and my THREE boys! :-)

  1. YEAH!!! We are so excited for you. There is no way you could go wrong, boy or girl. (as you know) children are such a blessing. The good day and not so good days are all growing times, you are going to learn so much about yourself through your children, it isn’t always so fun but it is really a good thing! Thank you for sharing with us. We have prayed for you and your family for many years and still are. We all love you.

  2. Congratulations! Super excited for you with your news of a 2nd son! Even as a grandma now of 3 precious little granddaughters, ages 6,5,and 3, I follow you regularly as we now even have more in common. Through our two awesome sons, we got out two precious daughter-in-loves, then came the bonus of those 3 little granddaughters. We also were both school teachers and I still love to create! Know I pray for you and your family, your Happy Home Fairy journey too. I have loved sharing the books you also have created with our familes. Keep up the good work HE has begun in you, Phil. 1:6! I so love and appreciate you! Am givng THANKS for you and your family too! God bless you all as we now move into this new season of celebrating HIS birth! Keep flapping those fairly wings sweet friend! Love ya! P.S. Blowing some “fairy dust” your way as we are presently in the most “Magical” place in the world!

  3. I’m so excited to hear about Baby Boy Buddy!! Welcome to the Boys’ Club!! If you don’t have a copy yet, Julie, you need I’m Outumbered!!

Such a creative way to let your family “see” your good news. Happy Thanksgiving.

  4. Congrat’s to you guys!!!

The Happy baby was the first thing that popped into my mind for his blog name but that name would be short lived because as we Mom’s all know they aren’t babies for long. :(
So what about the Happy Brother? Or Happy Buddy #2?

  5. CONGRATS!!! I have two boys, ages 5 and 2, and they are best buddies!!! They do fight, and they certainly tire me out, but they mostly love on each other and play together and have a really special bond and connection that is a beautiful thing to see! You are going to have a BLAST being a mom of two boys!!! I think baby brother’s blog name should be the Happy Bubba! And I love that his blog name is one of the first things you’re planning now that you know it’s a BOY! LOL too cute. :) :)

  6. Did anyone comment on Ryan’s BLUE shirt :)? Did that have the family thinking it was a boy? Well, let’s see… for the first 18 months he’ll be “crappy buddy”. Then he’ll probably be “yappy buddy” – especially if he’s like his big brother. As soon as it’s time to teach him “sharing”, he might be “slappy buddy” :). None of them are particular endearing names but I was just trying to be rhymie. :)

The Fairy would love to hear from YOU! :-) Seriously, it's my favorite. Leave a comment!
