Well, it’s the day after Thanksgiving and I still can’t say that I have ever made a turkey.

But I have definitely made a paper bag turkey!

One Charming Party’s creative kid’s table display inspired me this year as we planned to tell our family the gender of Baby #2.The Happy Hubby helped me make our paper bag turkey – but instead of stuffing it with popcorn, we stuffed it with a balloon the color of our baby’s gender. 🙂

Then we took it to our Thanksgiving feast.I explained to the fam that by carving this turkey – they’d get to know who was in my tummy! So, we let the nieces and nephew have at it.

I mean, what kids under 12 ever get an opportunity to carve a turkey??

*No knives were used in the carving of our gender reveal turkey.  No one was hurt in the process either!* 🙂Our nephew was pretty excited since he has been outnumbered for years. 🙂The Happy Buddy is going to have a little brother!!!

We couldn’t be more thrilled!

I know you all have been praying for a girl for us, and as much as a little princess all covered in glitter and fairy wings would have been so magical – I have had this second boy in my heart for long time and have been praying for him by name for many months!

I am so excited that the Happy Buddy is going to have a little buddy to wrestle with, play in the mud with, and crash cars with. 🙂

Now all I need to do is come up with a Blog Name for him!

The Happy Buddy is the Happy Buddy…so what should this little guy’s name be?? 🙂Happy Thanksgiving from me and my THREE boys! 🙂

YEAH!!! We are so excited for you. There is no way you could go wrong, boy or girl. (as you know) children are such a blessing. The good day and not so good days are all growing times, you are going to learn so much about yourself through your children, it isn’t always so fun but it is really a good thing! Thank you for sharing with us. We have prayed for you and your family for many years and still are. We all love you.

    Congrat’s to you guys!!!

The Happy baby was the first thing that popped into my mind for his blog name but that name would be short lived because as we Mom’s all know they aren’t babies for long. 🙁
So what about the Happy Brother? Or Happy Buddy #2?

CONGRATS!!! I have two boys, ages 5 and 2, and they are best buddies!!! They do fight, and they certainly tire me out, but they mostly love on each other and play together and have a really special bond and connection that is a beautiful thing to see! You are going to have a BLAST being a mom of two boys!!! I think baby brother’s blog name should be the Happy Bubba! And I love that his blog name is one of the first things you’re planning now that you know it’s a BOY! LOL too cute. 🙂 🙂

Did anyone comment on Ryan’s BLUE shirt :)? Did that have the family thinking it was a boy? Well, let’s see… for the first 18 months he’ll be “crappy buddy”. Then he’ll probably be “yappy buddy” – especially if he’s like his big brother. As soon as it’s time to teach him “sharing”, he might be “slappy buddy” :). None of them are particular endearing names but I was just trying to be rhymie. 🙂

But one thing I have found to be particularly helpful when raising our boys and working with preschoolers is what I like to call “The Circle Back.” ✨ Kids often express their anxiety, frustration or anger in big feelings or “tantrums.” There is no point in lecturing, preaching sermons, or reasoning with them when they are in this emotional place. ✨ The best we can do FIRST is help them calm down somehow. Also me trying to use my limited photo editing skills to blur out our house number - can you tell? I will joyfully live in the land of imperfection, though, because it points us all to the only One who truly is perfect and accomplished what the little garden flag behind me celebrates! • Favorite Moments from ✨Easter 2021✨ >> Easter basket scavenger hunt success at 6:00 am. Church was the fullest it’s been in over a year. Singing “He is Worthy” and the lights in the worship center brightening as the song reached the best part. Zion walking around with his new stuffed bunny, “Ribbit”, from Grammie. Sitting outside with family while the kids looked for eggs filled with chocolates and coins. Changing out of my Easter dress into a sweatshirt and leggings. Not sure if the kids only ate Easter candy for meals today. Getting a family photo! No one is picking

  • I forget the tooth fairy almost every time. I cut out the lunch box notes but forget to put them in the pails. I leave laundry in the washing machine until it needs to be washed again. I could have made the chicken and broccoli sheet pan recipe for dinner but ended up ordering pizza. Praise God that He fills in the gaps of all my good intentions. I don’t do everything perfectly but I can invite Him into everything. Instead of wallowing in my shortcomings, He says to acknowledge Him in all of our ways and He will make

  • Quite possibly the best thing about ✨Disney✨ was experiencing it through Zion’s eyes! Whenever he would get excited about something he could not wait to share his joy with others. A monorail would drive by and he would light up and say “choo choo!” Then he would run to each member of the family repeating “choo choo!” until we responded with the same excitement. Looking ahead to Easter and this made me think how the believer’s “choo choo” is the resurrection of Christ! Like Mary was instructed in the garden to “Go!” and tell others about what she saw, we

  • Jethro was playfully chasing Zion around the house, but somewhere along the way it started to scare Zion. As a result, Zion would run into the kitchen to find me saying, “I need up!” over and over so that I could lift him into my arms for safety and comfort. ✨ The whole scene played in my mind for the rest of the day as I thought of all the things that chase after me throughout the day to make me fearful, anxious, or despairing. Like Zion running to me, I can run to Jesus and say my own version
