Some ministry friends of mine got together recently at a local Chili’s restaurant and we did this activity together for our husbands!
What we did…
First we used these super cute glass pumpkin jars that I found at Wal-Mart!!!
Besides being excellent candy corn holders, I thought they would be a great place to put some encouraging words for our Happy Hubbies.
We used some cute little pumpkin cards from ACE Educational, but you could totally just cut out some from orange construction paper, or free draw them on white paper and break out the crayons!
Then we sat down and brainstormed all of the ways in which our hubbies are our pumpkin. We wrote on each card, “You’re my pumpkin because…” and then finished the sentence with an uplifting thought.
Here were some of my cards for my Happy Hubby…
Then we piled all of the pumpkin cards into the glass pumpkin jar and TADA! They were ready to encourage our sweet, pumpkin husbands!
It is so important for us to encourage our men! They need to be affirmed in their calling as leaders of our families. They need to know that we believe in them.
An article I read recently said this, “A man tends to think of life as a competition and a battle, and he can energetically fight it out if he can come home to someone who supports him unconditionally, who will wipe his brow and tell him he can do it. As one of our close friends told me, “It’s all about whether my wife thinks I can do it. A husband can slay dragons, climb mountains, and win great victories ifhe believes his wife believes that he can.”
Our words have power to strengthen, uplift, and heal. I hope that you will bless your pumpkin with a Happy Pumpkin Jar! You will not regret it, I promise!
“Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24

I’d love to read the whole article you quoted, Julie. Could you let us know where it came from?
Great reminder and much needed! Thanks

Thanks for leaving a comment!!!!! It’s an article excerpt from a FABULOUS book by Shaunti Feldhahn called For Women Only – What Women Need to Know About the Inner Lives of Men. Love to you!

Good words, Julie. May God bless our husbands by making us the encouragers and believers-in-them that they need.

Thanks for sharing this idea. You have inspired me to invite girls over from my Sunday school class next week, to make this project for our hubbies. I’m so excited!!
