The Happy Buddy went through a season where whenever I had to change his diaper, he would turn into a little rotisserie, rolling around and around.
Something had to be done or there was going to be a lot of poop everywhere.
One day I broke out in a rousing rendition of The Wheels on the Bus and suddenly the Happy Buddy stilled.
3,452,895 repeat performances later, that song is still a lifesaver!
As the first day of school approaches, what better way to celebrate than with some school bus-themed crafts and snacks for your Happy Home?
No Time for Flashcards made this simple Construction Paper School Bus with personalized photos of family and friends peeking through the windows!
Some of This and Some of That had her Happy Buddies paint an empty egg carton yellow, glue some magazine cut-outs of kids inside, and slapped on a few paper wheels!
They gave these cute Egg Carton School Buses to their teachers on the first day of school!
After you craft a school bus, you better eat one!
Ms. Marzoni’s Kindergarten Class made these yummy School Bus Crackers out of some grahams, yellow icing, Rice Chex, and mini Oreos.
Kiboomu whipped up some School Bus Twinkies. 🙂
What an adorable School Bus Cupcake to take into the classroom to celebrate the first week back!
Sizzle ‘N Spice has the simple instructions, plus a few more school bus treat inspirations.
Looking for a little healthier school bus snack?
Little Page Turners had this cute fruit and cheese School Bus Sandwich waiting for her Happy Buddy when she got home from her first day of school.
And, finally, many of my Happy Home Readers told me that they make School Bus Cakes to celebrate their Happy Buddies’ first day of school every year!
What a yummy tradition!
Family Fun has a great recipe that will have your Happy Home singing, “The Wheels on the Bus go IN MY TUMMY, in my tummy, in my tummy…” 🙂
Happy School Bus Craft and Snack-ing! 🙂

How cute!!! My daughters birthday is the beginning of Sept. One year, due to construction on the building, they started school late and we had her birthday the weekend before school started and used back to school as the “theme”. My aunt made her the school bus cake (she made it bigger and with her homemade cake) but instead of the cookies for faces, she laminated pictures of all the kids that would be at the party and put them on the bus. It turned out SOOOO cute!!!

Cute, Cute! I love the cupcake. My kids are all grown up but I am going to pin this to use at the school where I teach. Thanks for sharing!

We have a school-themed treat on the first day of school every year. We’ve been doing it since my firstborn went to preschool (about 10 years ago) and it’s such a fun tradition.
