This idea is like the Magic School Bus but since it had to do with fairies, I couldn’t resist sharing!
The morning of the first day of school when your Happy Buddies wake up, tell them excitedly that the Back to School Fairy visited your Happy Home.
Watch as they race downstairs to find the breakfast table decorated with streamers, balloons, a special tablecloth and personalized place settings.
Put an emphasis on whatever grade your Happy Buddy is entering by cutting out giant number 2’s and hanging them on the wall or the back of the chair for your rising 2nd grader.
You can even pick up a pencil that says “2nd Grade!” from your local teacher supply store and add that to the place setting.
And don’t forget the homemade place-mats that read – “You’ve been visited by the Back to School Fairy! Have a magical day in ________ grade!”
It’s also a great idea to include an encouraging Bible verse like Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go!” – to help combat those First Day Jitters. 🙂

Hey Julie,
You know I am always late learning about things and I saw your website on facebook. Can you please send me the template for the placemat? Caroline will love this! I just printed your “Back to School Survival Kit”. I am going to put them in her lunches.
Thank you and I am looking forward to reading your blogs.
Have a wonderful evening!
Thanks,
Wendy

Hey Wendy! You aren’t late! I’ve only been dabbling in the blogging world for about a month! I’m so glad you liked everything you’ve seen so far! I just need your address so that I can mail you the template – I can’t email it b/c I did it by hand! 🙂 Xoxo

What a cute idea! I will remember this for next year when I am shopping for my back to school supplies. My little girls love fairies.
Happy Home Fairy
What little girl doesn’t love fairies? I often prance around our Happy Home wearing my wings. 🙂 I guess I never grew out of it! Thank you for stopping by!
Tiffany
I sent you an email – I would love the place mat… Please 🙂
Andrea
We do the same thing but we call her the Backpack Fairy because she fills up her backpack with dollar items. I usually put cute little erasers, flashcards, a book, and stuff that has to do with school in it. Or the Backpack Fairy does, rather.

Hello! Thank you so much for this printable. My family has been using it since 2010 and this year I have a 9th grader who told me she would be sorely disappointed if her back to school fairy mat did not appear. I also have a 1st grader, 6th grader, and Kindergartener looking forward to meeting this fairy as well. Thank you so much for sharing this so many years ago. It has become a tradition in my home.

I can’t believe this! I am blown away! Thank you for taking the time to let me know! I am just so grateful that I can help your sweet family!!
