Here is a fun and simple way to teach your kiddos God’s Word as well as what He says about being thankful.
First, I taught my boys Psalm 136:1. We talked about how we can give thanks to the Lord simply because He is good. It can be tempting to depend our thanksgiving on what the Lord does for us. Then when bad things happen, we find it hard to be thankful. But the Lord is good. Always. His Word says so. And that goodness gives us hope in all circumstances. Our Lord can be trusted. Not only that, but His love endures forever. His love does not leave us or change. It is a love we can depend on no matter what happens in our lives.
Then I made a printable of the verse sliced up into cards – one word at a time.
Next, I hid the cards all over the living room. The boys’ mission was to find the cards and put together the verse as fast as they could. I did not tell them how many cards they needed to find, so it was fun to see them put the verse together, then realize they were missing a word, then race to find the cards that were still hidden.
Here is a sneak peek at the verse cards >>

I hope you have fun with this! Just one more way to help our kids know the Lord and His Word!
Joyfully,
