I just got my email this morning and it had this RIDICULOUSLY adorable idea that I just HAD to share with all of my fabulous Happy Home readers!
How to make a Mayflower Place Card for your Thanksgiving table:
Make It: Use a brown paper cup as the ship (or cover the sides of a white cup with brown paper), then fill it with candies or nuts and poke a pretzel rod down into the filler. Cut a rectangle from white card stock for the sail, punch holes in the top and bottom, add a name, then slide it onto the pretzel. Set the cup inside a coffee filter painted with blue watercolor paint to complete the seafaring scene.
This little Mayflower could also just be the perfect little craft project one afternoon for your next playdate! The kids will love it!
Or, why not make one of these cups, write your neighbors’ last name on the sail, and then leave it on their doorstep with a note that says, “We just had to sail over and say that we are so thankful for you!”
And, of course, you can always modify this idea for your Happy Hubby! Write his name on the sail with a note that reads, “Just sailed in to say I Love You!”
Happy Mayflower Place Card-ing! 🙂
