Recipe – Pizza Bubble

8 Jul

Dear Happy Home Friends.

Let me introduce you to

The Great.

The Delicious.

The Pizza Bubble.Your Happy Buddies are going to EXPLODE over this amazing-ness.

I’ve shared some of the Happy Hubby’s favorite meals before (Taco Pizza, Chicken Bruschetta Bake, etc.) – but this one is somethin’ special.  It’s unique, beyond yummy, and the presentation is quite out of this world.

I picked this blue ribbon winner up from a Pillsbury cookbook many moons ago.

I hope you enjoy it with your Happy Home on a warm summer night!!!

Ingredients

  • 8 T butter, melted
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 (12 oz) cans Golden Layers Refrigerated Flaky Biscuits
  • 40 small pepperoni slices
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into 20 pieces
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (forgot to put this in the photo above)
  • 1 1/4 cups pizza sauce, heated
  • 12-cup fluted tube pan

Directions -

Step 1 – Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray the 12-cup fluted tube pan with cooking spray.  In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.Step 2 – Separate 1 can of dough into 10 biscuits; press or roll each biscuit into a 3-inch round.  Place 2 pepperoni slices in center of each biscuit round.  Top each with a piece of mozzarella cheese.Step 3 – Bring dough up around filling; press edge to seal and shape the biscuit into a cute little ball.Step 4 – Roll each biscuit ball in the butter mixture.Step 5 – Place 10 balls in the sprayed pan.Step 6 – Sprinkle dough balls with Parmesan cheese.

Step 7 – Repeat Steps 2-5 with the remaining can of biscuits, placing balls over balls in the pan.

Step 8 – Pour remaining butter mixture over top.Step 9 – Bake at 350 degrees for 33-38 minutes.  Cool for 5 minutes.  Invert onto a plate and serve with heated pizza sauce.Step 10 – Sit back, relax, and enjoy the showers of praise and tears of joy your Happy Home will express to you in gratitude for making them such an unbelievable meal.

Note – I’ve even modified this recipe before to make it an excellent Garlic Bread Bubble – just eliminate the pepperoni and cheese!  UH-Maze-ING!

Happy Pizza Bubble-ing! :-)

I read this post earlier this evening, did a quick mental inventory of the kitchen, realized we had all the ingredients (except garlic, oops!), so we had it for dinner. It was delicious! My partner is not so much about the garlic, so I think I’ll make it the same way next time, but with a garlic/butter dipping sauce for me!

And then, of course, I blogged about it :-)

I made these tonight (well, a quarter recipe in a very small corningware bowl) and Jamey really really loved them! His first reaction was, “Whoa, how did you DO that???” Thank you from both of us!

We lived in Tallahassee from 2001-2005! We went to FSU and lived in Londontown Apartments off of Meridian. We often go there in the summers to help Wildwood church with their VBS music! I have such a special place in my heart for Tally! I can’t wait to hear how the food turned out!!!!!!!!!!!
