Send a heart-shaped invitation in their Valentine Lunch for this very special Happy Home event!
Make everything RED!
Grab some cheap red paper plates, napkins, utensils, cups, and a red tablecloth.
Give a prize to the person who can wear the most red!
Have your Happy Buddies cut out some red paper hearts and hang them on the walls around your dining room table. You can even hang a few hearts from your chandelier!
Sprinkle Red Hots on the table or Conversation Hearts for some sweet confetti.
Place a small teddy bear (99 cents at Party City!) at each place setting with a note that reads: “I’m BEARY fond of you!” or “I love you BEARY much.” :-)
Eat by candlelight.
Serve individual Heart-Shaped Pizzas, of course!
Or, you could just use kitchen shears to cut out a heart shape from a 12-inch pre-baked Italian pizza crust. Spread on some pizza sauce and add your favorite toppings! Bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes!
You could even cut the pepperonis into little hearts like this gal did from One Charming Party…
Toss together my unbelievably scrumptiou-licious Sweetheart Strawberry Salad or throw together a normal salad with a magical twist like this one…
Now, for a special drink…
I love this yummy idea from Amazing Moms!
Serve up some Cupid’s Delight! Pour a bit of Cherry 7-Up in a cup, top with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream, a squirt of whipped cream, and a cherry on top! Suddenly a Cherry Coke is transformed into a Valentine Wonderment!
Don’t forget your magical heart-shaped straw (saw some in a pack of 6 for $2 at Wal-Mart)!
End the night with some chocolate fondue or even a heart-shaped cake!
You don’t need a special pan to make a heart-shaped cake – just pour the batter of your favorite cake mix into one 8-inch square cake pan and also into one 8-inch round cake pan. Bake. Once cooled, slice the round cake in half so that you have two equal semi-circles. Create a heart by placing the round halves on each side of the square cake – see the picture below…
Frost with pink icing and red, pink, and white sprinkles! A romantic masterpiece!
Play one of my fun Valentine Game Ideas!
Watch a movie together like “Beauty and the Beast” or “The Princess Bride.”
Or you could pay everyone in your Happy Home to watch “The Notebook” with you – extra $$ if they act like they enjoy it! :-)
Clear some space in your living room and have a dance party! Take silly pictures!
Tell some of these ridiculously hilarious Valentine jokes that I found over at Activity Village…

What did the girl squirrel say to the boy squirrel on Valentine’s Day?

Most of all, spend the evening marveling at God’s love.
Read through 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 as a family and discuss how Christ modeled that kind of love for us. Celebrate how obeying God’s command to love brings Him glory AND helps you to have the Happy-est Home on the planet.
End your magical day of Valentine Amazing-ness with a family prayer of thanksgiving to the Author of Love Himself.
Then wrap it all up with a final Family Love Sandwich on the couch. :-)
Happy Valentine’s Day in the Evening-ing!
