The New Happy Home Fairy and a Dedication

HHF-YT

Today is a day I have been praying about for a LONG time.

Since 2010, the Lord provided a space for me here to share my heart for helping mommies everywhere build happy homes.  I have shared countless crafts, recipes, traditions, and printables, as well as the story of my little family’s life – the joys, the struggles; the crazy, the funny; the trials, and victories.  It has been an incredible blessing to be able to serve my dear readers through each and every post.

Today launches the start of a new journey for this site and I am both excited and humbled.

Through the help of the incredible Emily White at Emily White Designs, Happy Home Fairy is now a visual representation of my heart for you!  The new site is bright, happy, fun, and SO much better organized.  I hope that when you are trying to track down that amazing broccoli salad recipe I shared last year or that FREE Printable from 2 Easters ago, you will find that the new site will deliver results quickly and its attractive set-up will keep you hanging around longer.

My new site will also be a place where I can host a few ads and accept a few sponsors – something that will allow me to pursue my dream of writing more and reaching more mommies for Jesus.  But please don’t be worried, I remain committed to only bringing you the resources and products that I, myself, believe in wholeheartedly – as I have done for the last several years.

I cannot celebrate this day without expressing my sincerest gratitude to all of you, dear readers, for helping me get to this point!  Every visit, every comment, every social media share, has helped me to be brave, trust Jesus, take leaps of faith, and grow as a mother and as a woman of the Lord.  I feel so blessed!  Also, a large number of you helped fund the making of this site, so I feel like it is every bit yours as it is mine.  I hope you love the new site and use it often!  You are my angels!

Finally, with today’s launch, I need to say from the bottom of my heart that my number one priority at Happy Home Fairy is always to bring God glory and point others to Him.

I want you to know Him more with each post.

I long for you to long for more of Him because of the things I share here.

I pray that I will be a faithful steward of this gift He has given me and that you will always leave here inspired, refreshed, and encouraged to build your home on the firm foundation of Jesus.

Because homes that do that are truly the happiest.

– Julie 🙂

“I will thank the Lord at all times.
My lips will always praise him.
I will find my glory in knowing the Lord.
Let those who are hurting hear me and be joyful.
Join me in giving glory to the Lord.
    Let us honor him together.”

Psalm 34:1-3 (NIRV)

Sharing is caring!

Julie–how funny that I should ask you about a designer today! The site look ah-mazing! I have never been particularly religious and I am not yet a mom–and still I find myself relating to your experience of humanity, often laughing or crying while reading your words. It’s been a pleasure watching your blog grow (through lots of hard work!) over the years. And more than anything, I so appreciate your kindness and loving heart for all.

Believe it or not, I am a Mom to two married daughters and we have a one year old grandson and I still love your posts. You remind me of how I parented our girls. • 🌴 I love palm trees. 🌴

They don’t break in storms - they bend *with* the storm. ⛈️ (John 16:33)

They stay green all year round. 💚 (Psalm 92:14)

They grow best when it’s hot. ☀️ (Jeremiah 17:8)

They produce good fruit to be a blessing to others. 🥥 (Galatians 5:22-23)

They point straight up to heaven, reminding us of the goal. ⬆️ (Philippians 3:20)

Their branches are symbolic of victory. 🌿 (John 12, Revelation 7)

Go and be like a palm tree today! 🏝️🙌🏻🤩

  • ☀️Annual happy place week!☀️

The boys are trying to shoot me with water guns while I sit by the pool. The moon is a sweet bright spot in the night sky. A couple just rode by on the Broadwalk with music and extravagant lights on their bikes. The wind is gently moving the palm tree branches. Zion has a case of late night giggles. Noah is eating 3 scoops of ice cream from the Ben and Jerry’s shop and I am wishing this night will never end!

Thank you for another magical week, Hollywood. 🫶🏻 We will be counting down the days until next year!

  • Things I’ve learned from breaking my tailbone >>

1. It is possible to wear only 4 outfits in 2 weeks.

2. God is more concerned with developing character and deep roots than about our physical comfort.

3. My children don’t love to see me bedridden, but they love that they have been able to eat nuggets, pizza, and fries for 2 weeks.

4. When you can’t sleep because of pain or wild imagination that is not helpful, put on worship music.

5. A good prayer to pray, “Show me the depth of my need for You and shatter my self-sufficiency. Change my mindset so that prayer becomes my first response in every situation. May I seek You in all things. Help me to put all my hope in You...”

6. Hold on to a sense of humor. Or find someone to get you laughing. Even though it will hurt to laugh. You need to not take it all so seriously!

7. God’s people are so precious. People showed up on our doorstep with lasagnas, flowers, sandwiches, Uber Eats gift cards, and one dear soul even sent her cleaning ladies to our house to undo the damage of mama being down for days on end. Whenever I was tempted to despair, someone would text or bring by some freshly cut fruit. The message here is don’t ask, just do > because every act of kindness reminded me of Who is in charge.

8. When hard times come, lean into gratitude instead of fussiness and resistance. Thank your husband for carrying everything while you’re down, thank your community for carrying you to Jesus, thank the Lord for being present in all circumstances with a plan for your good and His glory. There is a reason God tells us in the Bible to do all things without complaining or disputing-so that you. will. shine. It’s not easy, but the reward is GREAT. I want the world to see Jesus shining in me in my adversity. Doesn’t mean you can’t cry and admit that what you are facing is so very difficult, but this can be done with a surrendered heart. This is the new assignment. Accept it, receive it as something that is from a loving Father. Look for the provisions along the way. You will go from strength to strength. Move forward with hope. He’s got you!
