Here is a tutorial that EVERY Mom needs to view and take to heart!
As a mom, it is important to be armed with all kinds of random knowledge so that you can impress your Happy Buddies all day long.
Like did you know that the largest snowflake ever was 15 inches in diameter?
How about the largest snowman? It actually was the largest snow woman – Olympia Snow was 122 feet tall and built in the state of Maine!
Or what about this interesting bit… What does a polar bear use to catch its food? Its nose! Polar bears have the best sense of smell – they can smell a seal up to 20 miles away!
And finally, it is super important for all Moms to know… how to make paper snowflakes.
I mean – who knows? You just might get snowed in tonight and then tomorrow your kids will be chomping at the bit for something to do and you can WOW them with your CREATIVE INTELLECT!
All you need is a piece of paper and some scissors!
Let’s get started!
Fold the top right corner down so that you make a triangle.
Cut away the bottom piece (why not use it to write a sweet note to the Happy Hubby? Happy Homes are all about saving trees and encouraging our men).
Now fold your triangle in half so the pointy corners meet.
Fold your triangle in thirds (see above and below). You may need to adjust these folds a little to get the sides to match up, so don’t crease the paper until the folds are just right.
Cut across the bottom of your paper so that it is straight.
Here is the FUN part! Cut like crazy to make a design! Oh, the possibilities! 🙂
Unfold your snowflake and say, “WOW!”
Now, get busy making a whole flurry as decorations for your Happy Home!
You could…
Hang them in your front window!
Or…
Tape your beautiful snowflakes to a piece of ribbon and hang in your kitchen next to your Happy Buddy’s high chair so he/she can enjoy the winter-y magic while dining!
(Our Happy Buddy, however, likes to rip the snowflakes apart while he’s dining…)
AND… If you want to WOW your kids even MORE, then you MUST go to this site and learn how to make a paper snowflake that has SNOWMEN in it! I am not even kidding – look at the picture below! It’s practically a miracle!
ONE MORE THING… I always like to throw in a few ideas for the Happy Hubby, so here’s a thought with a flurry of paper snowflakes – kind of like my “It’s Fall in my car!” Idea from October: Cut out a bunch of paper snowflakes and sprinkle them all over the inside of his car. Leave a note that says “I love you SNOW much!” or “I am SNOW in love with you!” or “My heart is a-FLURRY over you!”
A Happy Home friend of mine actually drove to her Happy Hubby’s work and hung a snowflake on the door of his office with a note declaring one of the above sentiments. I LOVED that she took the time to bless her man in that way! And she said it meant the world to him!
But my Happy Hubby would not have appreciated me doing something quite so public… There are times when my whimsical ways make him want to transform into a puddle of Jell-O when his buddies are around, so I have to be mindful and tone it down at times!
Self-control is NOT AN EASY THING.
So make sure you give some thought as to what you know he would enjoy the most!

My husband has been traveling for the past few weeks and will be for the next several. He leaves for the airport every Sunday night, and I’m going to have these waiting in his car. Thanks for the fun (and free!) idea!
