Ever said something that you wished you hadn’t???
I can think of more than a million times when I’ve opened my mouth only to wish that someone would put a big ole’ sock ball in there so that I couldn’t say anything more!
Well, this St. Patrick’s Day craft is here to help!
Legend has it that in Ireland, if you visit Blarney Castle and lay a big smooch on the castle’s great stone wall, you will forever be given the gift of gab, or great eloquence and skill at flattery.
In fact, the word blarney has come to mean “clever, flattering, coaxing talk.”
Sounds good to me!
I’d love to get on our Home Loan Modification Contractor’s good side! 🙂
In fact, I’d love to see how this works the next time Christmas rolls around and I ask the Happy Hubby if we can get a trampoline… I’ve asked every year for the last 7 1/2 years of our married life.
Maybe the Blarney Stone is the answer to my bouncing dreams!
Round up your Happy Buddies and gather these items:
- A large, smooth rock
- Green paint
- Googly eyes
- Green glitter
- Glue
- Any kind of crafty/decorative accessory
Get your rock ready.
Add lots of cute facial features by using googly eyes, paint, stickers, foam pieces, etc.
Then you better get your kisser ready because there’s going to be some smooching in the Happy Home! 🙂
Isn’t that Blarney Stone adorable?
I used to do this project with my 2nd graders every year and they thought it was so much fun to kiss a rock.
I found another Happy Home that likes to make Blarney Stones over at Somewhat Simple. I like that her stones have big, juicy, puckering lips. Click the image below for directions and cute pictures of their Blarney Stones in action!
Come to think of it, I’d love for the Happy Buddy to kiss a Blarney Stone so that he can shower me with words of flattery all day…
“You’re such a great mom!”
“I love making crafts with you!”
“Your hair looks great even though you haven’t showered in 6 days!”
Happy Blarney Stone-ing! 🙂
Linda
