  • 5 Acts of Kindness for Spring Take someone a bouquet of tulips. Give a cold bottle of lemonade to your mail carrier or garbage man. Replace your neighbor’s doormat with a fun new spring-themed one. Make a loaf of banana bread for your pastor. • Presenting the newest UFC fighter! We were leaving school on Monday and Zion said he had to go potty. He raced into the bathroom, slipped, and fell face first into the toilet. At first I figured he would get over it, but he couldn’t calm down and every time I tried to ask him a question, he would stare past me blankly. Then his nose started to bleed. A trip to the ER gave this mama some peace of mind that his nose was not broken ! But MAN. What a ride. This all came after he split his chin

  • When I was growing up, he was the one who would rearrange my bedroom furniture every month when I got inspired. He was the one who rubbed my tummy when I had stomach aches. He would tell me I was beautiful when I fretted about being heavier than the other girls in my class. He always challenged me to do my best and use my gifts for God. Fast forward and he is the one who reminds me to take our garbage out. He fills up my gas tank when I come over on empty. He always knows what to

  • I heard an analogy recently that has made such an impact on the way I view reading the Bible. The Bible is food. Just as we eat often throughout the day to keep our bodies healthy and fueled, so we must treat the Word of God. If we don’t eat, we get hungry. And when we are so starved for food, we will look anywhere for it. Even if it means consuming junk. And the more junk we taste, the more we crave, and the less healthy we become. Such a challenge to consume the Word every day. No matter

  • The one place where I feel safest, happiest, at peace. In a world so crazy, His face grows ever more precious. Very grateful to be a part of this night of worship a few weeks ago. No agenda other than to lift Him up in unity with other Jesus-loving people. Many tired and worn out, but never giving up on seeking the presence of God. Hewillrestore. Being in His presence does not have to be formal like in these photos. Seeking His face happens over washing dishes and folding laundry and trying to get your littlest one to eat something

  • Happiest of 40th Birthdays to this wonderful man. He is strong, wise, faithful, persevering, pure-hearted, genuine, loyal, passionate, steady, and the best man I know. I love being under his leadership as my husband, but also as the worship pastor at our church. I feel safe with him. I know he is leading from a place of humility and sincere love for God. He could care less about accolades, status, or show. He just wants to lead people to Jesus. Thank you for being our rock, babe. And for unclogging the toilet on your birthday. That is the stuff of

  • Motherhood is kicking my behind these days. I have been texting my friend often “I’ve lost all control.” One child went to school without shoes today (and we live 45 minutes away). One child has had a fever since Friday night and has needed me constantly. One child is deficient in a vitamin causing extreme growing pains that keep him up all night. One child has been constipated for days/weeks/months it feels. One child dropped a dozen eggs on the kitchen floor as we were racing out the door. Two children need the basketball uniform washed every night this week.
