My favorite two events that we host in our preschool classroom are Donuts with Dad (see it HERE) and Muffins with Mom.
I thought it would be fun to share the details of our special luncheon with you!
First thing I did was hit up Target for party supplies. I don’t know why, but I think Mother’s Day is synonymous with the color pink. So you will see lots of pink going on at our party. Pink tablecloths, plates, napkins, etc. Y’all, I even wore pink to the event.
The menu is so yummy! I save a lot of my year’s budget money for this day so that I can buy a big platter of Chick-fil-a nuggets to make all my little students happy.
I also pick up another platter of fruit from Publix.
And I make my famous, show-stopping Broccoli Salad (otherwise known as The Best Salad Ever). This is ALWAYS a big hit with my sweet mamas!
Of course we had lots of muffins, too.
My students are only 2 and 3, but we work really hard preparing a short presentation for the moms.
We start the luncheon by singing 3 special songs. I am going to share them here in case you would like to use them!
“My Mom’s Special”
(to the tune of Frere Jacques)
My mom’s special, my mom’s special
Look and see, Mom and me
I love her, she loves me
Lucky me, lucky me.
“Mommy, Mommy, I Love You”
(to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star)
Mommy, Mommy, I love you
Yes I, Yes I, Yes I do
I’m so glad that you are mine
I will love you all the time
Mommy, Mommy, I love you
Yes I, Yes I, Yes I do.
“If You Love Mom and You Know It”
(to the tune of If You’re Happy and You Know It)
If you love Mom and you know it clap your hands (clap, clap)
If you love Mom and you know it clap your hands (clap, clap)
If you love Mom and you know it and you really want to show it
If you love Mom and you know it clap your hands (clap, clap).
(Repeat with shake your hips and blow her a kiss)
Seriously cute.
Then we present the women with some special projects – a sweet interview and handprint project (you can see all of the details and grab the FREE Printable HERE).
Right before the luncheon is over the kids give their mamas a beautiful, handmade necklace.
You can find all of the instructions for this project and detailed photos in THIS POST.
And this year I also used some budget money to get everyone a Godiva bar with a cute tag. If you want the tag too, just click HERE.
This mothering business is hard work and we need a little Jesus and a little high quality chocolate to get us through. 🙂
I think all the moms had a great time!
Do you host a Muffins with Mom? I would love to hear your ideas!

I’m not a teacher, but I loved this! How sweet. You made it so special. Those are some lucky mamas!

This looks like So much fun! What a blessing you are to your sweet little students and their mamas!!!
We need a whole lotta Jesus and maybe just a little chocolate…tee hee hee.
Love the way you thought of every detail…and especially love the very feminine doily tablecloth! 🙂

Sabrina – you always lift me up! Thank you for commenting here today! <3

Thanks for sharing the songs! I have done Muffins with Mom with first graders for a few years and they recited a poem. The poem is beautiful, but I knew it would be too much for my 4K students. Your songs our perfect!
