Mommy let me borrow her blog for today so that I could say thank you for being the best Daddy ever.
There are so many things I love about you.
I love how you take me in the ocean with you when we go to the beach.
Thanks for chasing me around the house while I do my ritual ‘Naked Run’ before bath time.
I think it’s so great that you didn’t get mad when I drew pictures with green crayon all over your best shirt.
No one makes Mickey pancakes like you.
It makes me happy when you serenade mommy and me with your guitar while I am taking my bath.
Thanks for teaching me how to be proud of my ‘toots’.
I love helping you take the trash to the curb.
You’re really smart because you know how to make my electric car come back to life.
I laugh so hard when you yell into the slide at the playground.
You let me do cool things like turn the coffee maker on in the mornings and scramble eggs – even if I splatter egg goo all over the kitchen. You introduced me to the magic of blowing bubbles and rocking chairs.
You have great stamina because you can change my stinky diapers and not throw up.
I love walking into church on Sunday mornings because I know I will see you on the stage with your guitar and you’ll say hi to me into the microphone.
You taught me that I need to be brave for mommy and catch all of the spiders.
I always feel safe when you pray for me before I go to sleep every night.
I know you have a lot going on at work, but thanks for doing whatever you can to be home with me. I really like hanging out with you. You’re my best friend.
I even made you a video to prove it. (Uncle Eric only helped me a bit.)
Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I love you.
