One of my favorite Christmas traditions is making a birthday cake for Jesus.
We bake the cake together, decorate it, and take it to my in laws’ house where we celebrate with all of our extended family.
We gather and sing Happy Birthday and the kids blow out the candles and we dig into the cake!
If you want to make a cake, too, I have assembled some decorating inspirations to help you make it special!
**And don’t worry – no fondant or crazy special cake-decorating tools/skills necessary.**
In fact, I think the best cakes are the ones where the kids helped!
This was our cake last year. 🙂
I love the way they made the ‘t’ into a cross!

I absolutely love the use of the candy cane for the ‘J’ in Jesus! Find this cake and delicious recipe at Your Vibrant Family.
Add sprinkles all around the edges like Catholic Icing blog.
I love this sweet little FREE printable cake topper from Little House Studio.Look at these baby Jesus cupcakes from HERE!
Noah and I made our cake out of M&M’s one year with the focus on the birthday boy’s name. We served the cake at our Happy Birthday Jesus Party.
This cake literally SHARES THE GOSPEL when you slice into it! Check out the easy recipe and instructions HERE.
I love this simple pennant banner and cake from Lil’ Pumpkin Grace!
And, finally, I love the idea of putting together little gifts for friends to help them bake a birthday cake for Jesus too! This is such a wonderful way to make it happen for a family that might not otherwise be able to do so.
Check out the details at From Glitter to Gumdrops.
What do you think? Which Happy Birthday Jesus cake will you make this year? Or will you let your kiddos have full creative control?
I would love to see your pics! You can post them on my Facebook page HERE.
It’s all about Him!
Joyfully,

I can not wait to send the kids home with their cake supplies. I plan to also print the nativity matching game cards featured on your other page:
https://happyhomefairy.com/nativity-crafts-activities-kids/
and let each kid have 1 of each card to color, glue to popsicle sticks and then they can use those to decorate their cakes with.
Merry Christmas,

We make a birthday cake for Jesus every year too! And we sing happy birthday to Jesus and eat the cake at my in laws house as well. Must be a Brasington thing. 😉 This year I’ll be making a gluten free cake, so that I can enjoy it along with everyone else. Thanks for the fun decorating ideas. We’ll have to try one this year. 😄

I’m going to have a cake for Jesus this year, but how do you decide who gets to blow out the candles? I have several little ones that are all going to want to do it!
