Sweet mamas, you share God’s love with your kids simply by being there! By giving them hugs and kissing their booboos and not freaking out when they draw on the couch cushions (haha).
You share God’s love with them when you pack their lunches and pray over them at night while they sleep.
You share God’s love with them when you offer a listening ear. You share God’s love with them when you speak words of life. You even share God’s love with them when you give them boundaries and teach them what’s wrong and what’s right.
And you share God’s love when you are weak and can do nothing else but cry out to Jesus.
You’re doing awesome, mama.
But every once in awhile I like to find some fun, hands-on ways to teach my kids about God’s love.
And Valentine’s Day is the perfect season to bring the message of God’s love to life in our homes in creative ways!
Today I have put together a collection of fun ideas and ways for you to do just that…
Try this cute crayon resist activity from Toddler Approved, but write messages like “Jesus Loves You,” or “God is love”.
This simple object lesson from Play Eat Grow is a wonderful way to show your kids first how our hearts are empty without God’s love and second that God means for us to share His love with others!
This simple lesson from Stuff We Do is an amazing way to bring the verse Psalm 51:10 to life for your kiddos!
Grab a box of chocolates, empty it (you’re welcome for giving you permission to eat the contents in the name of sharing Jesus with your kids), and a small mirror to do this clever illustration from The Scripture Lady.
Look at these easy and adorable stained glass hearts from Creative Children’s Ministry!

Make a Popcorn Praises snack! Show your kids some un-popped popcorn and tell them that the kernels are like children who haven’t found Jesus. Without the warmth of God’s love they haven’t burst to life. Pop the popcorn. When God’s love warms our hearts we burst with happiness and praises to Jesus burst out of us. We can’t help but tell others how much we love Him and how great we think He is. Then eat the popcorn together!

Check out this fun Bible Verse game from Danielle’s Place.
Kids Sunday School Place has a cute Love Charades game that inspires kids to love others as God has loved us. 1 John 4:11-12 is a good verse to go with this game, “Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.”
And finally, here is a sweet little song you can sing with your kids while holding a Bible…
Sing the Song: “Where is Love?” (to the tune of “Where is Thumbkin?”)
Where is Love? Where is Love?
Here I am. Here I am. (point to Bible)
The Bible tells of Love. The Bible tells of Love.
God’s love for you. God’s love for me.
So many amazing ideas, right?! I hope you can share one of these ideas with your kiddos this month and celebrate the love of our great God!
Joyfully,
Julie 🙂

Yes Thankyou Julie, we may use the print outs as our church is participating in a Chili Cookoff the weekend after Valentines and we are handing out candy and bibles during this event. The printouts will give our youth a craft to do Sunday and Wednesday nights at church and add to event handouts but most important have sight of bible verses for us and our youth. We appreciate all your efforts with much gratitude Thankyou from the members of Hot House Missionary Baptist Church in North Georgia. Joy
