Here’s a cute and easy Fall Craft to fill you with the spirit of Autumn!
I had these little Leaf People out while my niece was here visiting from Germany and she LOVED them! She called them her little Leaf Men.
Plus they make EXCELLENT little “Distraction Toys” for when you’re changing your child’s diaper on a changing table and they are having a meltdown – works like a charm with the Happy Buddy! I just wiggle and shake one around in the HappBuddy’s face and he instantly forgets that he was hyperventilating and thrashing his legs and arms just moments before. 🙂
- Silk Leaves (I got this bag from the Dollar Bins at Target)
- Popsicle Sticks
- Googly Eyes
- Glue
Directions:
- Glue two googly eyes to a silk leaf.
- Color a popsicle stick in a fall color (optional).
- Glue silk leaf to the popsicle stick.
- Allow to dry.
- Tada! Have fun with your Leaf People!
Another cute idea is to take a Leaf Person and stick it in your husband’s shirt pocket one morning before he gets dressed for work. Include a note that says, “Do you Be-LEAF in love??? Xoxo” He’ll love it! Tell him that he has to wear it during all of his important meetings. It will inspire everyone to feel good because Fall things make people feel good. 🙂
There are many other ways you can use Leaf People. Stick one in your neighbor’s mailbox with a note that says, “You are an unbe-LEAF-able neighbor!” or let your child take one to his/her teacher at school. I’d love to hear about your Leaf People and where you put them or how you used them! Leave a comment and tell me about your Leaf People Adventures!

Hey Sister,
I had so much fun with you at Rio today. I ran right out and bought leaves at Target this afternoon. I have 3 packs so I can share with my Mommy friends back in Germany. Now I just need to get some googly eyes and popsicle sticks and we are set for “fallicious” family fun. I want you for MOPS in February!!!
Love,
Jenny
Happy Home Fairy
Here is a hilarious story from one of my friend’s who used her Leaf Person to surprise her husband!
So, I decided to surprise my husband with the little happy leaf with a note that said (You are unbe”leaf”able). I quickly put it in his “lap top” and closed the case.
Little did I know, he does not open his lap top at work. He puts it on a docking station which is connected to his desk top. Well, he spent the entire morning thinking he was going crazy because his mouse kept shifting in the middle of his work. He finally decided to call the IS department to report the problem. The Technician walked in, checked out a few things, opened the lap top and handed him the little leaf and said “Here’s your problem” and smiled. Evidently, the stick was rubbing against the mouse.
LOVE IT!

Hi Julie!
I just made my leaf friends and am sending one to my niece and nephew in California and one to my grandmother to spread the good fall cheer!
Thanks for the ideas and giving me a few supplies 🙂
