As much as I want Easter in my Happy Home to be Beyond the Bunny, I don’t have anything against the bunny, himself.
I mean, bunnies are God’s creation and they happen to be a great symbol of the springtime season.
If I do a bunny craft or we come across some bunny-themed item in the store, I’ve been saying in a lighthearted voice, “Bunnies are cute and fun, but tell me, Happy Buddy, is Easter all about bunnies?”
And he has been smiling and responding with, “Nooo, it’s about JESUS!”
Boom. No holiday confusion.
So the other day I decided to keep the Happy Buddy home from preschool so we could have a little fun.
We made these adorable Bunny Pancakes using the same recipe I posted HERE when I made them for the Happy Hubby (I am pretty sure my sweet husband was super relieved when we finally had children so that I would stop using him as my holiday guinea pig!). 😉
To make your own Bunny Pancakes is so easy.
Ingredients –
Frozen pancakes (or you could make them for real but I didn’t feel like dealing with the mess)
M&Ms
Mini chocolate chips
Your favorite syrup
Directions –
Step 1 – Place 2 of the frozen pancakes on a microwave-safe plate and microwave for 30 seconds.
Step 2 – Cut a third pancakes as shown in the photo.
Step 3 – Add the cut pieces to the plate and microwave again for another 30-45 seconds, or until hot.
Or in the spirit of bunnies, nibble. 🙂
If you’re looking for less of a morning sugar fest, I suggest blueberry eyes, a strawberry nose, and raisin mouth.

Laura, that’s so great. You just made my whole day with that comment! Thanks for taking the time to tell me about it!!! I have always said that big kids are really little kids trapped in big bodies. 🙂
