Want to know what’s in all of those Wal-Mart bags????????

I thought I’d help the Happy Hubby know what to give me for Mother’s Day this year, so I took the liberty of going on a shopping spree to buy myself a hundred new pairs of shoes.

Haha!

Just kidding.

Those bags are filled with these…250 to be exact – all different colors and flavors!

Would you believe that those little gems are only $1 each?!?!

Which is perfect for me because I have the honor of being in charge of putting together the Mother’s Day gifts for the Mommies in our church!  $1 per mom was our budget!

I made this cute tag to go with the candles…Here is what one looks like all finished!

Only 249 more to go!!!!!

I informed our pastor that he needed to announce the gift using this wording, “Moms, you may feel like you are burning the candle at both ends, but we think no one can hold a candle to you!  You are a shining light and an aroma of Him in your Happy Homes.”

I think our pastor thinks I am nuts super smart.

It’s not too late to grab a candle and print my tag and give this as a sweet little gift for the moms in your world!

Just don’t go to any Wal-Marts in the South Florida area because I cleaned them all out of candles. 🙂

And if you are a member of my church, please feign absolute shock and surprise when you get your gift on Sunday.

Happy Mother’s Day Candle-ing! 🙂

Wow that is super cute and creative! My church always does carnations for the moms. But after they recognize the moms and have them stand up they give an extra flower to all the grandmothers and then they have 6-8 special categories for another flower. For example, “who has the youngest child”, “who has the most children living at home”, who has the most boys”, etc.

  • Presenting the newest UFC fighter! We were leaving school on Monday and Zion said he had to go potty. He raced into the bathroom, slipped, and fell face first into the toilet. At first I figured he would get over it, but he couldn’t calm down and every time I tried to ask him a question, he would stare past me blankly. Then his nose started to bleed. A trip to the ER gave this mama some peace of mind that his nose was not broken ! But MAN. What a ride. This all came after he split his chin

  • When I was growing up, he was the one who would rearrange my bedroom furniture every month when I got inspired. He was the one who rubbed my tummy when I had stomach aches. He would tell me I was beautiful when I fretted about being heavier than the other girls in my class. He always challenged me to do my best and use my gifts for God. Fast forward and he is the one who reminds me to take our garbage out. He fills up my gas tank when I come over on empty. He always knows what to

  • I heard an analogy recently that has made such an impact on the way I view reading the Bible. The Bible is food. Just as we eat often throughout the day to keep our bodies healthy and fueled, so we must treat the Word of God. If we don’t eat, we get hungry. And when we are so starved for food, we will look anywhere for it. Even if it means consuming junk. And the more junk we taste, the more we crave, and the less healthy we become. Such a challenge to consume the Word every day. No matter

No agenda other than to lift Him up in unity with other Jesus-loving people. Many tired and worn out, but never giving up on seeking the presence of God. Hewillrestore. Being in His presence does not have to be formal like in these photos. Seeking His face happens over washing dishes and folding laundry and trying to get your littlest one to eat something

  • Motherhood is kicking my behind these days. I have been texting my friend often “I’ve lost all control.” One child went to school without shoes today (and we live 45 minutes away). One child has had a fever since Friday night and has needed me constantly. One child is deficient in a vitamin causing extreme growing pains that keep him up all night. One child has been constipated for days/weeks/months it feels. One child dropped a dozen eggs on the kitchen floor as we were racing out the door. Two children need the basketball uniform washed every night this week.
