Talk about last minute inspiration!
I don’t know about you, but I tend to get my best ideas when things are down to the wire! This particular trait of mine drives everyone around me CRAZY – like the Happy Hubby who has to deal with the explosion of craft supplies and urgent requests to run out to the store and find such-and-such-obscure-item that I HAVE to have so that I can make just the perfect thing before my deadline in less than 24 hours. 🙂
Case in point…
I was at my sister-in-love’s house the other day and I spotted a super cute flower pot that her Happy Buddy had brought home from her preschool. I immediately wanted to make a hundred of my own! I thought it would make the perfect Mother’s Day gift for my mom as well as myself, of course, and pretty much anyone else who wants one!
And it was awesome-ly easy to put together!!!!
Simply paint a terra-cotta pot and a dowel rod (I had leftover rods from my Peep Topiary), but you could also use a paint stick, whatever color you choose.
Cut out a few pieces of scrapbook paper (got my Spring-themed paper from the Dollar Bins at Target!) in the shape of a flower.
Place a picture of your Happy Buddy’s face in the center. As you can see, I added some serious glitter magic. 🙂
Laminate the flower.
Once your paint has dried, hot glue the flower to the rod, stick it into a floral foam base, and put the whole thing in the terra cotta pot. Glue some leftover Easter grass to the base. And don’t forget to tie a cute ribbon around it!Then, voila! The perfect centerpiece (and take-home gift) for when your mom comes over for Mother’s Day Lunch! 🙂Happy Mother’s Day Last Minute Craft-ing! 🙂
