Our little preschool class learns about the color white in the month of February!
It’s a great month with all the pink and red and white things floating around for Valentine’s Day and also the chilly, snowy weather lends itself to this color as well.
Here are some fun ways we like to celebrate white!
Make Snow Dough (only 2 ingredients!) from Happy Home Fairy
Simple Winter Sensory Bin from Blessings Overflowing
Melted Snowman Shape Craft from Mom Inspired Life
Airplane Sensory Bin from School Time Snippets
Kids LOVE playing in shaving cream and it makes the classroom smell so heavenly!
It Looked Like Spilt Milk Book and Activity from A Mom With a Lesson Plan
Exploring Marshmallows with the 5 Senses from Fantastic Fun and Learning
Marshmallow and Toothpick Building from Munchkins and Moms
(Make sure to get the toothpicks with the rounded ends when using with toddlers!)
Why Are Polar Bears White? A Preschool Investigation from Still Playing School
Pete the Cat’s White Shoes Activity from Teach Preschool
Snowball Names Fine Motor Literacy Activity from Fun A Day
Toilet Paper Mummies from The Gift of Curiosity
White Dog Handprint Craft from Happy Home Fairy
(This is a part of our ongoing Brown Bear, Brown Bear handprint project – see it HERE.)
Make a Discovery Bin of white things you find around your house or classroom!
Here is a cute song about the color white sung to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” –
W-H-I-T-E spells the color white for me.
Like the big clouds in the sky.
Or the whipped cream on my pie.
W-H-I-T-E spells the color white for me!
I hope your class has fun learning about the color white!
Joyfully,
Julie 🙂
