My mom is one of the most magical people I know. She has the gift of taking ordinary things and making them extraordinary. She instinctively knows what little touches will create that “Am I in Disney World?” effect.
So naturally her new house in Georgia is full of surprises.
The best being the Narnia Closet in the grandchildren’s play room.
Come, let’s adventure into the wardrobe…
How did my mom make this magic?
She and my dad took an old wardrobe, removed the back, and set it in front of a closet.
That’s it!
There is even a giant Aslan lion in the closet.
But Happy Baby was scared of it, so he was banished from Narnia.
I kept trying to explain the whole “He isn’t safe, but he’s good” thing (like in the book), but he just wanted the lion out of the closet.
Of course I said to him, “Courage, dear Heart.”
Let me know if you make your own Narnia!

This is so wonderful! Hopefully, he will eventually come to love Aslan. He is so lucky to get to grow up with this wardrobe.

That’s amazing! How fun! 🙂 There’s a big hidden park with fountains and a lake behind our dentist’s office, and we sometimes take a walk there after appointments. There are lamp posts along the walkway, and my boys always say it’s like we’re walking in Narnia. They would LOVE that closet. 🙂

I’m totally doing this when my kids are old enough to hear the Narnia series. LOVE!
