A few weeks ago the Happy Baby got really sick.
Then the Happy Buddy got it.
Then I got it.
Between the 3 of us and our super stuffy noses, there wasn’t a whole lot of sleep happening in our house.
After about 5 nights of this, I started to feel a little emotional.
Going on little sleep makes me go from being Miss Positive to Miss-The-World-Is-Ending-This-Very-Minute.
I locked myself in the bathroom and cried for about 15 minutes while 2 pairs of hands poked under the crack of the door (you know, standard protocol).
Then I got a text message from a friend saying she was popping by in 5 minutes.
I dried my eyes and headed out of my tiled cave of emotion to find her on my doorstep with a bag of goodies.
Gifts for me and my kids.
It was a total game-changer, folks.
And she didn’t even know we had all been sick and me weeping only 5 minutes before!
If that’s not the Holy Spirit working in my friend’s heart I don’t know what it is.
Ladies, we need our girlfriends.
Our husbands are awesome and everything, but most of the time they don’t randomly surprise us with happy little bags of new nail polish.
Or know the right look of compassionate understanding to give after you tell her you don’t remember the last time you washed your child’s sheets.
For many, knowing how to bless a friend is like second nature.
But just to throw a few new thoughts your way, here is a compilation of sweet ideas to make your friend’s day a little brighter…
Which one are you going to try this week?
Happy How to Bless Your Friend-ing! 🙂

Your blog is so delightfully refreshing and authentic. Thank you for sharing your heart with us readers and reminding me that this journey is better when we do it together. We all have our own struggles but deep down we’re much more similar than we are different. Thank God for genuine women who are willing to share like you!!

Heather, thank you for these sweet words. They encouraged my spirit today! You are so right about authenticity… We need to express that to one another so we don’t feel alone. xoxo
