I realize that Groundhog Day is kind of a no biggie (especially to Florida people!), but I am of the mind set that if there is something to celebrate – then we better celebrate it! 🙂
Here are a few last-minute ideas that you can use with your Happy Buddies to enjoy the big reveal tomorrow when Punxsutawney Phil pokes his head out of his burrow.
I am loving this Groundhog Day Headgear from Learn Create Love.
The kindergarten teacher at the school where I used to teach does this fun Peeking Groundhog Craft every year with her students.
All you need is some brown paper, glue, googly eyes, paint, a Popsicle stick and a paper cup. A cinch!
Scissors and Spatulas has the complete tutorial so your Happy Buddies can have a blast poking their groundhog up out of the cup – er – ground!
I also liked this simple Groundhog Shadow Craft from All Kids Network– complete with printable groundhog and shadow template!
Since Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, I had to throw in this Paper Groundhog Craft made from heart shapes that can be found over at Lucky Me!
Why not wake your Happy Buddies up to some Groundhog Pancakes?
I love how Chocolate Cake Moments even made shadow pancakes behind the groundhog pancakes. How cute!
And, finally, Kitchen Fun With My 3 Sons came up with this easy-peasy Groundhog Treat.
Don’t have the ingredients to make the groundhog cookie? Just stick a Teddy Graham in a chocolate pudding cup and voila – Phil is ready to satisfy your Happy Buddy’s sweet tooth.
I hope he sees his shadow!
