Johnny Appleseed’s birthday is coming up!!!!
When I was teaching 2nd grade, I think my class spent more time in the month of September studying apples than we did learning all of the other things that I was supposed to be teaching.
I just really love apples.
It wouldn’t be September for me without including a few apple activities here at Happy Home Fairy, so let me introduce you to what the Happy Buddy and I put together yesterday! So cute, right?!
And unbelievably simple.
I wish I had a tutorial for you, but it’s hard to craft with a 2-year-old – let alone draw it out by taking pictures of each step.
With pom-poms flying across the room and Elmer’s glue exploding all over the refrigerator, a mom has to work fast!
Plus, this craft came together so quickly that it’s kind of a no-brainer.What you will need to make your own tree:
- An empty toilet paper roll
- Brown paper
- Green paper (ours was some scrapbook paper I found in a stash somewhere)
- Red pom-poms
- Glue
Directions:
Step 1 – Wrap the toilet paper roll with the brown paper and glue to seal.
Step 2 – Cut a small slit in either side of the toilet paper roll.
Step 3 – Cut a bushy tree shape from the green paper.
Step 4 – Glue pom-pom apples on the green paper and allow to dry.
Step 5 – Slip the tree top into the slits on the toilet paper roll.
Voila!
Johnny would be so proud!
And here is a picture of the tree the Happy Buddy made for Mom-Mom.He wanted her apples to be rainbow because she is so magical.
Happy Apple Tree Craft-ing! 🙂
