You might come to my house and say, “No pets here,”
But I say, “Look a little closer, for they’re quite near.”
My roosters, how I love them
All feathered and strong
When decorating with them one can never go wrong.
Hang them on walls where they’ll greet you each day
With a ‘Cock-a-doodle-doo’ as they like to say!
You can place them on top of the hutch where your TV lies within
Or buy a rooster lamp – much to your husband’s chagrin.
Hang them up some more – one in every room
Roosters bring smiles and laughter, not gloom.
A curtain is a nice place to see each little bird friend
Or a pillow for your head’s comfort at day’s end.
Grab this happy pair of roosters to spice up your food
They sure do make anything taste good.
Roosters in the kitchen help me do the dishes
I’d ask for more roosters if I had a genie and some wishes.
The cupboard features roosters clucking at each other
And this rooster just finished a book and reaches for another.
Now, you see our Happy Home has many a feathery pet
And the best thing about my roosters is no trips to the Vet!

I love your roosters and they remind me so of my Mom! Her birthday along with my grandmother’s birthday fell on May 1. I am so sentimental about them both and your post just lightened my heart and made me smile for miles. I love all of your posts and feel like you are my next door neighbor. Thanks so much for sharing your life with the web friends. I am suffering from lack of sleep today also. Some wedding of International fame got me out of bed much too early today! Every time I go shopping and see roosters I feel like Mom is watching me. I so miss her but know she is in a much better place.
