“No believer ever complains who is frequently in prayer.” ~ Charles Spurgeon
Ryan sent this quote to me earlier in the week and it really pricked my heart! I do spend quite a bit of time fussing. Fussing at our messy house, fussing at not getting enough sleep, fussing when everyone is sick, fussing when my hair frizzes. 🙃
The Bible has a lot to say about gratitude and contentment. “Be joyful ✨always✨, pray ✨continually✨ and give thanks in ✨all✨ circumstances.” To be ever in prayer so that I am ever satisfied in Him - teach us to do your will, O Lord! No matter the humidity. 😆
Happy Thanksgiving, sweet friends!
The morning was tough! Lots of impatience and snapping at each other! And then we strolled into church and I felt all the condemnation. Who am I to walk in here and worship? I am the worst.
But then we sang “O come to the altar, the Father’s arms are open wide. Forgiveness was bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.”
Y’all, we need church. We need these reminders of who we are and Who God is to spur us on towards love and good deeds.
Repent, be forgiven, and move forward with hopeful singing, “Oh what a Savior! Isn’t He wonderful! Sing hallelujah! Christ is risen!”
Also, your girl finally learned how to use an eyebrow pencil! Look, Mom! They’re back! 😆💁🏻♀️🙌🏻
We had homemade Mac and cheese, carved a pumpkin with sunglasses, trick or treated, and now we are watching a movie. 🥲 Every time a trick or treater comes to the door, Zion leaps off the couch with joyful excitement. I splurged for the full-sized M&M bags because we only get a handful of visitors and I live for the reactions. 👊🏻🤩
BTS >> Zion agreed to wear his costume hat only for the photos, he had major itching issues, and we only trick or treated about 20 minutes before he was over it and I had to carry him home. Sweet Noah has a fever. A part of Jethro’s costume kept falling off and it was stressing him out. We hadn’t really planned a costume for Noah until 5 minutes before we left to trick or treat. And Zion had to wash his candy down with some antibiotics from a double ear infection he got over the weekend. We don’t always share that stuff, but it’s the stuff in between these happy photos that builds character and keeps us clinging to Jesus! 🙌🏻
After 20 years of marriage… 3 words come to mind…
Be faithful to your spouse.
Be faithful to serve them.
Be faithful to pray for them.
Be faithful to speak kindly about them to others.
Be faithful to them with your body.
Be faithful to forgive.
Be faithful to repent.
Be faithful to give the benefit of the doubt.
Be faithful to appreciate.
Be faithful to listen.
Be faithful to comfort and encourage.
Some days love comes easily and some days love is a choice - be faithful no matter what you are feeling.
Your greatest gift to your spouse is to stay attached to the Vine so that you will bear fruit.
Fly to Jesus every moment of every day.
Place your hope in God alone.
Read the Word. Memorize the Word.
Grow in grace and wisdom and humility.
Clothe yourself with compassion.
Choose to be a peacemaker and to practice self control.
Cry out to the Holy Spirit for help.
Pray more and worry less.
Resist the need to be right.
Make the choice to love without condition because that’s how Jesus did it.
Best marriage advice I ever got was to trust the Lord and have a sense of humor. I remember Ryan making me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants when we were in the NICU with Jethro. What was one of the hardest seasons of our lives was made a little softer because of the medicine of lightheartedness.
Do the corn maze.
Draw portraits of each other after the kids are in bed.
Ask each other ridiculous questions.
Watch a funny movie.
Lie in bed and tell each other pumpkin jokes.
Try not to take it all so seriously. God loves you and your marriage and He will help you each new day.
Here’s to 20+ more years together!
Annnnd the adventure begins! 🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁
My bag was 400 lbs and Ryan said my life would be much less complicated if I only had one pair of shoes, but we made it to the airport on time! 💪🏻
New England here we come! ✈️

October is Pastor Appreciation Month!
We had fun putting together this cute candy gram board for the pastoral team at our church. They have a weekly prayer meeting on Tuesday mornings, so when they walk into the meeting room, they will see this! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I can’t wait for them to get it! 🍭 🍬 🍭
It doesn’t take much to bless your pastor(s)! Even just writing a handwritten note without all the candy 😋 will mean the WORLD and save them a toothache. 😆
Let’s take the month of October (and every day) to care well for these precious shepherds who deserve way more than 100 grand every pay day! 👊🏻😅

Catching up on National Son’s Day!
These 3 boys are the best of the best! Never a dull moment with this crew! Me trying to get a photo with them be like Jethro insisting on being a background creeper and Zion smacking his cup of water so that everyone got wet. 🤪
I am so thankful for the privilege of raising these young men for Jesus - set apart for His glory!
🙏🏻In a world of selfish ambition, may they selflessly serve.
🙏🏻In a world of fear and insecurity, may they take heart and have courage.
🙏🏻In a world of increasing darkness, may they shine like a city on a hill.
🙏🏻In a world of impulsivity, may they walk in wisdom and contentment, being slow to anger and abounding in love. May their convictions be stronger than the crowd.
🙏🏻And, above all, may they love God with everything they’ve got!
