Hello friends! Do you even remember me? It has been like a month since I last posted here because I am basically asleep ALL THE TIME.
Making a human is hard work! 🙂
But it is such a blessing and I constantly find myself thanking God for one more chance to raise a little person for His glory.
Today I have a fun post for you! When we announced our pregnancy, several precious people in my life blessed me with the most simple, thoughtful, and fun ideas to celebrate our news. I cannot tell you what a joy it was to know that others were excited about this miracle. It reminded me of the importance of the body of Christ – we need each other!
So if you have a friend who becomes pregnant, you may want to bless her with one of these cute ideas!
Cards
I LOVE SNAIL MAIL. Seriously – do people even do this anymore? People besides realtors and orthodontists? Getting a card in the mail means SO MUCH. Pick one up at the store, slap on a stamp and send it to the pregnant mama to tell her congratulations.
Cravings
Many pregnant women experience very specific cravings at the beginning of their pregnancy. Find out what the new mama wants and then bring it to her! I mentioned on Instagram that I was craving hamburgers and fries and one of my sweet friends texted me the next day to say she was bringing BurgerFi for me to my work for lunch. It was like manna from HEAVEN.
Another friend showed up with a jar of pickles and a note attached that said IN CASE OF EMERGENCY CRAVING. CONGRATS ON YOUR PREGNANCY. It was the funniest and happiest surprise and makes me smile every day.
Clothes
As a pregnant mama’s belly grows, finding clothes that fit becomes quite the hurdle! If you happen to have recently been pregnant, ask your friend if she would like to borrow your maternity clothes. This can save a mama so much money! It is also a great way to get all those clothes out of your house while helping someone else feel less like a sausage stuffed into its casing.
Care
Some mamas wrestle with morning sickness. Send them a little love by purchasing some Preggie Pop Drops, Sea-Band Mama Wrist Bands, Ginger Ale and crackers, Ginger Tea, or you could put together a simple First Trimester Kit like THIS ONE. Your kindness could truly be a ray of sunshine in the midst of nausea and trips to the bathroom!
How have you recently blessed a newly pregnant mama? I would love to hear your ideas!
Joyfully,
Julie 🙂
Denise
For my DIL, I gave her a card of congrats with a gift certificate for a mani/pedicure. A pedicure is something she likes before she goes to hospital so her feet look pretty.
Amber
I recently gave a pregnant mama a “Pamper Me” Pack. I put some peppermint tea, lavender epsom salt, chocolate (or course) and nail polish in it. It is really fun to put together and what mama doesn’t want to have a reason to take a break? Thanks for the cute ideas😀
Marta
Thank you for the cute ideas. You are the best! <3
Addy Brown
When a friend is having a hard time adjusting to another baby or just needs some encouragement, it’s such a blessing to have someone that will lift her up in prayer. It’s one of the best things we can do for someone we care about.
