Thanks to the Leapfrog Letter Factory show, the Happy Buddy has learned the entire alphabet!
Now it’s time to have a little fun with all his new smarts.
We all know how much Monsters have a hankerin’ for letters.
So this fun little activity will give you plenty opportunity to make some monster’s belly very happy.
First, you will need to make a monster.
*I followed the instructions from HERE.*
Then you will need to lay out some small plastic alphabet letters.
Next disguise your voice as a hungry monster and demand that your Happy Buddy feed him specific letters.
Like, “I am STARVED! Give me an A!”
Or, “I need a letter H NOW!”
Or, “Letter W – GET IN MY BELLY!”
Your Happy Buddy can then find the appropriate letter and place it in the monster’s mouth.
If your Happy Buddy ever chooses the wrong letter, the monster will inevitably throw it up with big, exaggerated heaves.
He is a very picky eater with a very weak constitution.
This idea would be great for spelling practice or even math facts if you lay down some numbers.
Simply have your Happy Buddy spell a word from their spelling list and then feed each letter to the monster.
Or ask them what 6+2 is and they can feed the monster an 8, etc., etc.
Just a fun little way to jazz up homework and learning routines!
Happy Alphabet Monster-ing! 🙂
