Today we were stuck at home due to a hurricane that (praise the Lord!) ended up heading out to sea.
Lately I have been really concerned about making sure that I help the Happy Buddy learn what it means to have a grateful heart.
With Halloween being just a few days away and it being a holiday where people generously hand out treats to trick-or-treaters, I don’t want the Happy Buddy to be some kid that just takes his candy and then runs to his next victim.
So we decided to do a little Trick or Treat Practice.
The Happy Buddy put on his costume.
I grabbed our bucket of Halloween candy and hid myself behind a closed door.
He knocked.
And I taught him how to properly respond to all those kind people who will be opening their doors to him on Halloween night…
The Happy Buddy did a great job with our Trick or Treat Practice.
Ahhh, but the flesh is so weak, my friends.
And the whole time I could tell what he was really thinking…
Happy Trick or Treat Practice-ing! 🙂

That is soooo funny! I had to laugh at your astute interpretation. It just goes to show how we are TRAINED TO and DO And SAY the right thing, when we are occasionally thinking something totally different.
By the way, Julie, I loved your outfit today! Hahaha! Just kidding!
In truth, I’ve not come across many people with such a sincere grateful heart as you, so I am sure you will pass it on to your kids genetically and with good training. Even if they occasionally falter a little bit!

Too funny! I had to show hubby and give him a laugh too. Seriously though it was a great idea to practice with the Happy Buddy ahead of time, so that he knows what to do and say. So many times as parents we don’t let our kids know ahead of time what to do or say in a new situation and then we get upset when they don’t act the way we want them to. Your a great mom, Julie. 🙂 I like your hair up. Blessings and hugs!!!

One Word says it all “Hilarious” My Husband Steve and I needed a good belly laugh and this sure did it. Reminds me of my Matthew when he was the Happy Buddy’s age. Thanks for giving us the incredible opportunity to share in your life. Can’t wait to see Baby Jet’s first Trick or Treat experience. Jane
