How to Thank a Police Officer – FREE Printable!

How to Thank a Police Officer! FREE Printable at Happy Home Fairy! These last few weeks have been so heavy.

As news of the tragedy in France came pouring in the other night, I found myself unable to sleep.  Fear filled up my heart and mind.  I literally began singing worship songs out loud and had to get out of bed to go pray over my boys before I finally fell asleep.

Then today as I was driving in to the city to pick up my boys from summer camp, police cars were racing past me and 3 helicopters were circling just a few blocks north of where I was headed and my body tensed in fear as to what awful thing was happening next.

It turned out to be an escaped prisoner – a MURDERER on the loose.

Seriously?!  Y’all.  It just feels like the enemy is TURNING UP THE HEAT.

But I absolutely refuse to let all this darkness swallow me up.  I refuse to let it snuff out my light.

So I am taking my cues from Mr. Roger’s mother who once said, “When bad things happen, look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”

I want to be counted as one of the helpers and I want my boys to learn how to help, too.

Today I want to focus on helping the police officers.

These men and women put their lives on the line every day to protect us and they deserve our respect.

thank police officersArmed with a fun FREE Printable ‘ticket’ (which you can download at the bottom of this post), we went on a hunt around town to find as many parked police cars as we could.

We slipped the ticket under the windshield and went on our way!

My husband is a 24 year veteran of the ATL police department, so I can’t thank you enough for this. There are good and bad people of EVERY profession in this world, and my husband is one of the good guys. Having my 9 year old son ask if someone was going to shoot his daddy for being a police officer rendered me speechless and crushed my heart. Pray for peace. Pray for acceptance and understanding. Just pray. Thank you again for supporting the men and women in blue. 💙

The enemy seeks to steal, kill and destroy. He is also the prince of division which has been on the rise both in the secular and religious sectors. When fear threatens my heart, I remember to look up because surely Jesus is coming soon. Sometimes I think I’m dreaming the things I hear and the fight for godlessness in our nation astounds me. The further our world pulls away from God, the brighter we shine and the more ready we become for His return. Thank you for giving us practical ways to keep shining in the darkness! Keep looking up sweet momma!

My husband has been an police officer for 17 years in Las Vegas. He is a Godly man who loves helping people. It grieves and frustrates us when law enforcement as a whole is portrayed as “bad” because of the actions of a small percentage. Thank you for this post supporting police officers! It truly makes a difference to them to hear a positive message or thank you amidst the negative constantly thrown at them.

He has helped us both ease our nervousness and helped in so many ways. Definetly made an impact in our hearts and he is just a kind hearted as they come. Married and a father of 5. My little girl is a sweet n sour gal. Sometimes she sweet other days she doesn’t want to speak to you LOL but he knows exactly how to deal with her little sour patch self. Lol thx for sharing these!!!!

Hi Julie, like most people I have been very concerned over what had been happening lately, in particular with police officers. On Wednesday I had to go to Pottstown, (approximately 13 miles away & I recently moved from there) to take my daughter to the doctors. I stopped by Dunkin Donuts & bought two dozen donuts in various flavors, I delivered on to Pottstown’s PD, an officer came out & was so appreciative, the second box I delivered to North Coventry PD, they are located across from where I attend church. The dispatcher received them & said how much it means with all the different things happening in our country. I had also wanted to give each a case of water, but the fact that I am only suppose to lift no more than 5 or 10 lbs, could not do. Even a thank you note would be so appreciated. Btw it was on the news about the convict escaping in Fort Lauderdale, but did not mention if he was caught, was he?
You are doing a fantastic job with happyhomefairy. Thank you.
    Love & Hugs,
    Edie ~

But when your parents come to town, it’s time to dust off the plates that aren’t made out of paper and plan a delicious breakfast menu! ✨

The dog was absolutely thrilled to have so many new friends. Also he probably ate more than all of us combined. 😆

I felt the Holy Spirit nudging me to bake a cake for a family very dear to us. I went to the store, bought the ingredients, and carefully followed the recipe. The recipe said multiple times not to overcook the cake because it will very easily become dry. So I watched the oven diligently. But when I pulled the cake out, I could tell it had baked a little too long.

God called me to bake this cake for this family. It wasn’t time to quit, but it wasn’t time to make another cake! So instead of getting discouraged, I chose to pray about it. I asked the Lord to take my offering and make much of it. If He can multiply the loaves and fish, He can moisten up a cake!

Precisely one day after delivering the cake, we received a text stating what I thought was impossible. The cake was good! Delicious even!

Seems silly to pray about an overcooked cake, but I believe God is honored in these small acts of faith. Believing in the impossible was something God asked Mary to do, so why not trust Him to do the impossible here, too?

What impossible thing can we bring to Him in prayer today? He loves to hear from us. He loves to delight and surprise us when we choose to believe He is good and powerful and kind. He is no magic genie, but I think when our desires align with His heart, when obedience is the priority, and we are fully surrendered come what may, we can trust He will do a good thing.

“For nothing is impossible with God!” Luke 1:37

“He satisfies the hungry with good things.” Luke 1:53

Sleep tight, friends!

Galatians 5:13 says, “For you were called to be free, brothers and sisters; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.”

The Lord gave us some helpful instructions on freedom and we are very much in need of them! May we set our gaze not on division and fighting, but on asking God how we can be a part of the solution - small, faithful acts of Spirit-led love every day to the people in our world.

It is here in America where we can freely and confidently respond to Zion’s request to gather as a family in the living room to pray for the leg pains he has been having. We can bake muffins in our kitchens, leave surprises at someone’s doorstep, share a Bible verse with the grocery store employee, and worship on Sunday with friends.

These freedoms were purchased at a great cost, as many chose to lay down their lives in an ultimate act of love. May we remember. And may that remembering lead us right back to Galatians 5:13 and Jesus’ ultimate act of love. This holy inspiration is what we need to rise each day in humble gratitude for freedom in Christ to pour out, serve, and build His kingdom here on earth!

Happy Birthday America! 🥳

🇺🇸🧨🌭🇺🇸🧨🌭
  • 🎉 NOAH is 16! 🎉

Writing this while you are playing a game of hockey with your little brothers in the living room - because you are awesome and love making your little brothers happy. You are commentating the entire game, complete with buzzer sound effects and crowd cheers. 🥅🏒📣

Moving to a new school this year was not easy. We had some hard times, some big disappointments, some dreams crushed… but you didn’t give up. You kept showing up, believing good is always on the way in God’s plans. And sure enough, you’ve made some new friends, discovered a new passion for running, gave it your all, and even rocked a mullet. 😅

You are strong, creative, full of integrity, purity, wit, fun, wisdom, care, responsibility, discernment, intelligence, and love. We could not be more proud of you!!! ❤️🧡💛

Happiest of birthdays, bruh! 😎
  • Just really grateful that everyone is smiling! We love you, Hollywood Beach! ☀️🌊🌴
  • This passage really encouraged me recently! It comes from Jeremiah 17:7-8.

I’m drawn to passages that describe the fruit of a person who loves and trusts God. This is what we are offered every single day in Christ! But I definitely don’t *feel* fruitful, steady, and confident every single day! I am often tossed around by my circumstances, ruled by my emotions, distracted by worldly pleasures, and basically overthinking everything in the universe.

Interesting that the verses just before it say,

“Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength…he shall not see when good comes…”

Maybe we get so focused on what everyone around us has or is doing that we miss standing confident on all the good he is sending into our own lives. We grasp at “if onlys” and “what ifs” so regularly that we are paralyzed to see good or do any good for Him.

Put your hope in God! Look at Him! Command your soul to remember. Stop scrolling. Look your people in the eye. Do something kind for someone! Choose to not be the main character! Tell the overthinking part of your brain to be quiet and thank God instead. Even when it is hard! Deep roots are never formed without some struggle.

This is where we get to be blessed, sisters. Trusting in Jesus (even when it looks a little desperate and needy) will produce strong, fruitful, and confident women in the Lord! 💛🧡❤️💙🩵💚

✨When we wake up, it will be Christmas!✨

🎉 NOAH is 16!

This passage really encouraged me recently! Interesting that the verses just before it say, “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength…he shall not see when good comes…” Maybe we get so focused on what everyone around us has or is doing that we miss standing confident on all the good he is sending into our own lives. 💛🧡❤️💙🩵💚
