I don’t really remember teething being such a big deal when the Happy Buddy was a baby.
Aside from some major drool-age, he sort of woke up one morning and had teeth.
The Happy Baby, however, is a different story.
When this little man gets a tooth, it’s like a full body experience.
There’s fatigue, his hypotonia flares, he loses a ton of weight, gets massively congested, and there is some barfing.
Sometimes I feel like he only gets a few days of rest before another pearly white decides to make its journey to the surface.
The most prominent teething symptom of the Happy Baby’s teething, though, is CHEWING.
Pretty much every piece of furniture in our house has bite marks.
I am not even kidding when I tell you that the leg on a chair in our dining room has been practically whittled to a twig. 🙂
The other day when I came upon the Happy Baby chewing on the Happy Hubby’s flip-flop, I was determined to find another way.
I mean, I am learning to let go a bit more about germs and things, but a SHOE?! C’mon people, we have ducks that leave big ole’ poopies on our sidewalk… I am not okay with him putting a shoe in his mouth!
So when I came across Chewbeads, I felt the light of heaven shine down and I heard a chorus of angels.
One of the Happy Baby’s favorite things to chew (besides shoes, apparently) are my necklaces.
If I have anything around my neck, it will instantly take up residence in his mouth.
Most of my jewelry is from Claire’s – yup, that’s true, I am a 12-year-old trapped in a 30-year-old body – so I would imagine the paints and materials they use are filled with more chemicals than the periodic table of elements. Not to mention the fear of my inexpensive jewelry breaking mid-chew and becoming a choking hazard. Eeek!
Chewbeads, on the other hand, are perfectly designed for a baby.
Cute, bright, chic jewelry for moms to wear – soft, non-toxic, un-breakable jewelry for baby to chew.
A total win-win!
The Happy Baby LOVES my Chewbeads (shown here as the Jane Necklace in Sunshine Yellow). Just look at the chomp he has on that thing!
And I love the chunky design and all of the fun color choices.
I feel way more stylin’ in my Chewbeads than my usual Claire’s bling! Plus, I know I am investing in my baby’s health. 🙂
Chewbeads offers other options beyond necklaces as well. Bracelets (which make a helpful little reminder of which side you nursed last), teethers, and even a special collection of jewelry designed for little girls.
You want to make everyone oooo and ahhhh at the next baby shower? Give the mom-to-be some Chewbeads!
And if their product wasn’t awesome enough, the customer service is even better.
The gals at Chewbeads have offered 1 FREE Jane Chewbeads Necklace to one super fabulous Happy Home Fairy reader!
Here’s what you have to do to be entered to win your very own Chewbeads Necklace…

I love the idea of something easy and fun for the kids to teeth on! I am always looking for way to console a teething child as we travel a lot! My daughter was sitting in my lap on the airplane, I had a tube in my bag that she was chewing in and ended up slipping open at the bottom! Red, sticky and gooey goo was everywhere! It was a mess, my 2 year old had hands in it and soon it had migrated to the person next to us on their white trousers! I was slightly red and embasrrased and a kind mom behind me handed me a scarf to wrap over my shirt as I was exiting the plane.
I have liked both pages on facebook and would love a set of beads!
Thanks!

Hi!! I would love to win a Chewbeads necklace! I love them!! I have wanted one for a long time and just haven’t taken the plunge to purchase one (the silly budget can be tight at times, ok a lot of times!) I have drooled over them myself numerous times at a cute maternity boutique in my area. I love the concept of my baby chewing on something safe! My sweet 13 month only has 2 teeth and I’m waiting for the others to appear! He too gets fussy when a tooth is trying to cut and tugs on his ears too. I would so love fashionably wear a Chewbeads necklace!

Oh my! #1 was a drooler and left his crib a sight to behold! #2 bit her HAND for crying out loud! I figured that was better than someone else, but her poor hand was raw. We’ll see what #3 ends up doing…but I’d LOVE to be prepared with a Chewbeads necklace. Finished the above steps!

My daughter was not into chewing on my necklaces. She didn’t put as much random stuff into her mouth. My son is a whole other story! He has broken countless necklaces from grabbing them off my neck so he can chew them. That’s why I think these are great–because I don’t have to worry about losing yet another necklace to his mouth, and they have that breakaway clasp so I’m not losing my neck too. Oh and the babies at church are always trying to eat my jewelry so even though there’s some grossness with sharing my necklace being chewed, it’d be better than what’s going on now 🙂

I have two toddlers, I would had loved to use chewbeads for both of them. They would chew on anything they could get their mouths on. I hadn’t heard about chewbeads until last year when my sister introduced me to them. She bought the turquoise one to use for her son. It is so cute and fashionable. I love it! Now that she is due with her 3rd baby in December, I would love to be able to give her another one for her new baby! I completed #1 and #2! Thank you, Ashley

I have 5 kids and all of them had a different takes/styles of teething, but the most interesting one was my 4th child, my 2nd boy. His teeth just refused to break through and come in. He was almost 2 years old before his first tooth finally broke through the skin. He had countless x-rays and exams and visits to the dentist and orthodontist because they couldn’t figure out why his teeth just wouldn’t come through. He chewed on everything he could get his hands or mouth on. It was a very long 2 years and I wish these would of been around then, but am so glad they are now available. Now the grandchildren are starting and I’m curious to see which one will be the one to have the same situation. I knew that chewing on these specially designed teething tools would of helped his teeth come through sooner..

I keep tryi g to wear different necklaces but she loves them all. I don’t buy the “real” stuff and I think I have had one rust from drool. I did have a teething bracelet but it got lost. Would love me some beads to replace it 🙂 haha have a great day!!!!

Would love one to replace the teething bracelet I lost. I don’t buy the “real” stuff and they rust. 🙂

I’m not sure if my first comment went through?
If not, here it goes. I liked both Happy Home Fairy and Chewbeads on Facebook. My daughter was an ok teether. She never got a fever or sick, but chewed anything she could, drooled, and whined. I’m pregnant with #2 – due in 2 weeks – and I’m praying that she is easy teether!

We have an amazing 7-month-old, and he is a drooler and a chewer! 🙂 He loves to chew his hands and, yes, his feet – maybe his toes are flavored?! 🙂 I liked Chewbeads on facebook, and I had already liked Happy Home Fairy on facebook – I’d “love” it on facebook if that was an option! 🙂 -Joanna [email protected]

What a great idea Chewbeads is and even better that it is fashionable also! My first son was a fairly easy teether but did chew on his fingers whenever he was about to start teething. I have a three week old now and would love to have this cute necklace for when he starts teething!
Thanks for having this giveaway. I have liked both pages on Facebook!

My daughter is 6 months old and has had a teeny tiny white dot, peeking through her gum for at least 6 weeks! My sweet girl will chew on anything. Her hand, my wedding ring, her toes but more often; her little friend’s toes when she has play dates! Please save her from becoming “that girl” we would love to win some chew beads! Both pages have been liked 🙂
Holly
My two girls have been very similar in the teething department. Fever, diaper rash and the tell-tale “teething poop”. That acidic smelling, runny poop that signals another looong night or two on the way!
Linda
My chin has been given some pretty rough treatment during teething times.
Linda
Oh I finished steps 1 and 2. Thanks

I just got out my crib for baby #3, only to find my sweet girl left enough teeth marks on it to give it a “rustic, distressed” vintage look! 😉 its time for some chewbeads before this baby arrives! i liked both pages!

I have a slobber monster here too-at 15 months, he has a total of 5 teeth actually broken out if his gums but has I think 3 in the ‘coming in’ stage all at once!! We are fussy, clingy, chewy (on practically ANYTHING), having small ( thankfully) random barfs, and those L-O-V-E-L-Y poopy diapers that you just never really grow to love (ha!). It’s soooo much fun! Can’t wait for the next one (tooth and next bun-in-the-oven to start this lovely teething battle)!!
Amy
I’m pregnant with baby number four. I never had these with my other ones, so I’m excited to try it out, even if I don’t win. It’s already on my list of must haves. I liked both pages. Thanks!

indeed one of the worst experiences of teething, I was in a breast feeding support group session with at least 10 other moms when my son Jagger started to cry. I went out into the lobby to calm him down, but it only got worse. At first people stared and smiled and after 20 minutes the smiles turned to frowns. I was so embarrassed that I couldn’t go back into my support group and luckily had my car keys. I got to the car and tried soothing him, (I didn’t know at the time he was cutting a tooth). After rocking and singing he fell asleep and I feel apart, crying quietly…
Rachel Roberts
My teething boy is a chewer. If he isn’t chewing he is crying. We have lots of teething toys and when he gets bored we switch it out. I bet these chewbeads would be great on the go. He can’t drop them if ther are around my neck!
Samantha Reedy
I love the idea of Chewbeads! I have so many necklaces that my daughter goes for but are unsafe for her to be chewing on. I would love to have something safe for her and pretty for me to wear also! I have liked chewbeads and happy home fairy on Facebook and I love to read all the great updates from HHF. I left my email and name in the details below 🙂
Nicole Copeland
Fans of both sites 🙂 My daughter would chew on the rails of her crib at night!! and My son has just started teething and he drools threw 3-4 bibs a day!!
Michelle Cusmano
I would love a Chewbeads necklace. I have been a Facebook fan for awhile now but haven’t gotten around to purchasing one myself. My little girl is definitely a chewer. Her new favorite thing to chew on is my fingers. So, I would much rather a necklace (which she has broken quite a few by trying to chew on them) than my fingers!

My caboose is crazy when teething. He will grab my face and try to bite my cheeks, nose, eyeball whatever! OUCH He is 19 months so trying to get him to chew on teethers isn’t working but if it is attached to me (even semi-perm) attached he loves it.
Cassie Schermbeck
I used to have A GORGEOUS “Teething Bling” necklace that somehow got lost–my darling daughter used it so much, but once when teething moved beyond the “bling” to the cord–and soaked it. I swear I put it in the diaper bag when that happened, while we were at church, but it’s nowhere to be found–I’ve searched the church, the diaper bag, the purse, all multiple times. And I have wanted Chewbeads ever since that happened! All the time, I wish I had Chewbeads.

I would love to have something she is supposed to chew!

My happy little one chews on the most random things when she is teething, but never teethers. At least none of the ones we have tried to date. So far, it seems her favorite thing to chew on is also my worst nightmare…. rocks! Yikes, talk about scary. She does know she’s not supposed to, but she just can’t seem to help it, she’ll run outside find a rock, hold it for awhile then look at me and grin and start to suck and chew. I’m seriously scared for her pearly white little teeth. The Dr. and Dentist have both assured me that as long as I take them away she can’t do any serious damage and that she will grow out of this stage once she gets all her chompers in. I’m secretly hoping their right, although I’m not sure I wholly believe them at this point. She’ll also chew on shoes (although not the bottoms), the straps of the baby carrier, my hoodie and jacket cords if she can and the occasional board book – there are two in particular that seem to be her favorites. We’ve also recently discovered some marks on the crib… guess it will need a fresh coat of paint before we ever decide to reuse it again. Thanks for the tip on these awesome necklaces and other jewelry, we’ll have to go and check them out, although not sure the budget will allow the splurge right now. Maybe in the future or with our next.
Completed steps 1 & 2… thanks for the chance!

Adeline loves to chew!!! If there was a job for professional chewer, she would be a millionaire! Besides her beloved rattle, she loves to chew on my necklaces the most. I am a concerned mom and love the fact that Chew Beads are safe for babies to gnaw away!
Erin Shank
The MOLARS ARE COMING…THE MOLARS ARE COMING!!! Please don’t let our daughter gnaw through our little Boston Terrier’s rawhide bone! There’s got to be a better way then letting her chomp through the pretend hot dogs from our son’s play kitchen, right? Liked (loved) both facebook pages..thanks so much for this opportunity..been a fan for a long time.

My daughter liked to sneak and chew on her crib railing. The poor crib looks lovely! She also drooled a lot. We had many days where we had to change clothes due to drool. We tried many different teethers amd went through a lot of binkies because she chewed holes in them. Would love to try chew beads for when we have baby number 2. Never heard about them until recently.
I like both pages!!!!

I have a junior bead necklace & bracelet for my 6 yr old & they are so cute! Really want to get the chewbeads for my 3 1/2 month old. He drools soooo much & chews on everything, mostly my fingers & his hands! No teeth yet but I’m sure they are coming soon! I liked both pages! 🙂
Summer Seaward
Mine has been a drooled since 3 months…we got an amber necklace which helped and the first two bottom teeth were no problem….then came the top teeth….sleepless night, shorter naps, fussy babe, and only one top tooth with the other one just laughing at us as we struggle through….would love to have one of these to help the teeth “pop”:)
Brianne Ward
My eldest drools like crazy when she gets her teeth. That’s how I know some new ones are coming in. She loves playing with my jewellery (and wearing it, too), so chewbeads are perfect and safe for her to do that with!
Heather P.
My daughter has become a biter and not only does she bite me, my nephew, and her father, she has also taken to biting the high chair, the straw of her sippy and her newest is sticking her hand so far in her mouth it results in a vomit mess…poor thing! I’m hoping to nip this problem in the bud fast and prevent it for the next arrival, due in September.
Thanks,
Confirmed I have done steps 1 & 2

I like Chewbeads FB page already and I’m a new “liker” for your page
My 5mth old is just beginning to show signs of teething. I wish I had something like Chewbeads with my other two kids. It’s so easy to loose other chew toys or simply forget to bring, so I love the idea of just having a necklace for bebe to chew on!

Love the chewbeads! Fashion statement & teether all in one! Lol

My youngest daughter is a horrible teether. She is chewing on everything and everything.. almost like our puppy! She has chewed on our plantations shutters, coffee table and the latest victim was my husbands toes last night!! Haha! We could really use one of these chewbeads.
I confirmed i did step 1 &2 🙂
Thanks!!

I’ve always wanted a chew bead necklace. Mainly because I nurse my son and he has to play with something, usually pulling mommy’s hair, when he nurses. He also puts everything in his mouth and these would be a perfect alternative to my thin gold chain necklaces! Thank you for this chance!
I have already completed steps 1and 2! Thank you!

I remember wishing I had this for my son who always chewed on anything he could get in his mouth. He is 5 years old now and yet I still remember (and probably always will) the many times of pulling dirty flip flops out of his mouth. So wrong!
I have had the easy teethers and some hard. Our son chewed his bed for about 6 months before we could get him to stop. Something about that wood….I decided he needed more fiber. If I picture his bed, I can only imagine what your chair leg looks like!
I currently have a 6- month-old girl who just started teething. She will pull anything she can into her mouth and chomp down with a vengence. No teeth yet, but I can see them coming, so probably soon.
I ‘liked’ the chewbeads site and already did the happy home fairy page on facebook.
Thanks!
Melanie Mehalic- Drouin
Olivia NEEDS Chewbeads. She chews everything (but not everyone so we are lucky there ha!!!) She loves to chew grocery cart handles!!! Sooooo incredibly gross but she will drop her head and just start to chew. I end up covering the handles with a blanket. I wish I had a chewbead necklace to pull out of my handbag to hand her as an alternative to chewing on the cart.

My little guy is 8 months old and he has his bottom 2 and is getting his top 2 now. He tries to chew on me but of course I stop him so he goes to whatever is on my shirt- a button, a string, extra fabric. I think he likes chewing on things that smell like me 🙂

Teething story:
When my eldest daughter was teething she was so in need of a teething toy at night she actually chewed up the edge of her crib. It ended up looking like a we’d been holding a beaver hostage in there. 🙂
Would love to win a cool necklace for the new little one in our lives. Save a crib, give a chewbead! 😀

These chewbeads would be great for my 8 month old daughter that is teething & chewing on any piece of jewelry I’m wearing. She’s broken a few pieces already ;(
When my oldest was teething she chewed on her convertible lifetime crib & left her personal marks. I had to put chew pads on to prevent from ruining it completely, I have already transferred those pads to my 8 month olds crib.
We would Love to sport & use chewbeads to help ease teething discomfort! I’ve liked both pages on Facebook.

My daughters crib has beautiful molds of her teeth… Too bad I didn’t notice she was doing it until she covered all 4 sides of the crib on day after her nap…. 🙁

For my 1st baby we would give her a pickle. She would gnaw on it and the brine would numb the gums. Of course this also gave her what we call pickle poos. My 2nd baby is now 3 months and drools non stop. I can’t find full sized pickles (everything is pre-sliced) so for now its hyland teething tablets and hopefully a beautiful teething necklace. I have completed steps 1&2.

My granddaughter is starting to teeth and these beads would be so awesome for her mommy! Our baby wants to literally eat her hands and then gets mad when she can’t get her entire fist into her mouth! My daughter a teacher has stopped wearing scrafs and jewelry of any kind to get classroom because of baby Cambrias extreme teething ordeals!! We may even have to stop wearing sleeves on our shirts! :). Well these beads look like a perfect solution for a mom or grandma that wants to wear jewelry and hold a happy baby at the same time!!! Great idea!

My little guy (17 months) has been teething for a year straight, or so it seems. He’s gone through his shoes, flip flops are a popular choice, toys, straws, spoons, his crib rails, the leather recliner, my fingers, and now most recently are poor dog. Her tail is a magnet for those chompers so my husband and I always have to keep a very close eye on the 2 of them. (As if we didn’t need to already). I would love to win a necklace and have completed all the steps. Pick me!! April Welborn; [email protected]

My LO is 5 mo old, and drools all over the place! I have resorted to making some bibs for him, and it helps a bit. But he also gnaws on his fists constantly! if his sleeves get in the way, well, he just sucks on them too!
Alicia
My daughter’s teething sounds much like Happy Baby’s, she didn’t chew through anything but it was a whole body experience. Fevers, throwing up, runny nose, and NO sleep. I think we watched all seasons of Yo Gabba Gabba in a week because she was teething and would not sleep. We tried everything but nothing really worked. She’s three now but we have a baby due in a few weeks so this would be perfect for baby number two! I already liked Happy Home Fairy on Facebook and just liked Chewbeads. 🙂

My oldest chewed the sides of her crib, my next loved breadsticks, my new 6 month old had his first tooth just break thru. He is chewing on everything and so drooly! How did I forget about this?

Oh my gosh!! My most recent teething story: my youngest also has a tough time teething!! My older 3 weren’t bad. But this one, whew! He loves to chew so these are perfect!!!!
Oh back to my story…my boy got 5 teeth in two weeks! Yikes! That was rough!!
These beads seem awesome!!!!!

Avery too likes flip flops!! I have to hide them if we leave them out. She is also a fan of chewing on her hair brush!
Linda Benedict
Tori is a teething Monster!!! she really things I am her personal teething toy because she chews on my shoulder, my arm, my neck, my fingers and nursing is becoming a nightmare. Lately its been worse because more teeth are coming in and Oragel is just not doing much anymore. 🙁 I don’t remember my first being this bad! I can’t wait for her to pass this stage of teething because my little pirana is so cute!
Sarah Whitaker
My daughter is a horrible chewer while teething. She actually gnawed off all of the nipples of her pacifiers! Talk about scary! This would be a much better chewing option.:) I liked both Facebook pages and thanks for the chance at a great giveaway!

My DD is constantly grabbing at my glasses, fingers and hair trying to chew on anything she can get her hands on! I stopped wearing jewelry after she started so she doesn’t get hurt. It would be so nice to dress up again! I have liked both pages 😉
