Sunday morning dawned bright and beautiful.
I have been wishing all month for the perfect day to get some fall family pictures at our church’s pumpkin patch.
So I came before the Lord with a simple request –
That we would all be dressed in time, fed in time (with no barfs), pumped in time, and make it to church (a 30-minute drive) on time so that we could go to the Pumpkin Patch after for our fun family photo experience.
Well, my prayers of getting there dressed and on time were answered (which is a miracle in itself).
But the fun family experience?
Not so much.
My fairy-tale photo shoot ended up being a bit of a battle with the sun, wind, toddler moodiness, tired baby, and other comedy of errors.
Thought you might get a kick out of this glimpse into our ‘perfect’ fall day…
Not everything goes the way we plan it to, huh?
🙂
And I didn’t even tell you how in the family photos I am shamelessly whispering bribes to the Happy Buddy of iPad time in exchange for smiles!
We did have a few enchanting moments, though…
Although I’m thinkin’ that sweet smile is more a reaction to the wind blowing in his face than anything else! Ha!
Hoping your pumpkin patch photos were a bit more successful than ours!
Happy Pumpkin Patch-ing! 🙂

That is hysterical! Welcome to my world! Whenver I am going for the perfect picture, one is just about to pick their nose! Better luck next year!

Still cute tho! Your baby is getting so big!!! They are both adorable. 🙂 I haven’t posted here in a while but I am the one from Tallahassee, FL not sure if you remember me or not. 🙂

Well with such great subjects the pics can’t be that bad! These are the days to remember anyway. I’d totally print a collage with your reference remarks and all and put it in a frame with a little note that said “They’re sleepy and they’re kooky, wiggily and pukey they’re all together flukey the HappyHome family”!

Way too funny….. It is that way sometimes. I have teenagers and sometimes it goes that way. I’m the cheer leader of the bunch hoping to get a few good pictures for my scrapbook…. I too confess that I bribe them when needed. Thank for sharing!

This post made me laugh out loud! I love that you posted all of those pictures. It’s just so real and it happens to all of us!

Hey, you are all in the same place at the same time & mostly cleanish. That counts as a success in my book!

Great photos 😉 Thanks for blessing my day with heart throbs and smiles 😀

OMG too funny! At least you know 100% of people with children can relate!

Too cute! I love your outlook on a not-so-perfect day. Photoshop has been our friends for several years now. You can always make a photo be “perfect” that way. 🙂

ok, so glad to hear you are human and yours don’t turn out perfectly either! :))) We went to a trunk or treat event and I realized afterwards I never took ONE picture of my cuties! So…I’ll try for some tomorrow! Good luck – maybe a costume one will be better. love ya julie!

Dear Happy Mom, All your pics are great because even though you think they aren’t perfect, they are real. AND you make them better with your cute captions. Who’da thought a guy would be upset about a “double chin”???
Frances
they are great and fun!!!

Hilarious! I have several family photo fails too but it’s all about memories, right? I say frame them anyway! Thanks for sharing!

One of my favorite Christmas pictures was a major fail on Joel’s part. He kept making faces to be funny and instead of getting angry with him said we would just use it anyway. He did not believe me.(everyone else looked great) He never did it again. That’s my boy!
