Every year the Happy Hubby and I get so excited about decorating our Happy Home for Christmas.
Our tradition is to set up the tree on the weekend after Thanksgiving. We put the Happy Buddy to bed (putting up a tree with a toddler trying to throw ornaments and eat pine needles is not very magical) and we watch the movie Family Man while we get to work.
It’s one of my favorite days!
I couldn’t wait to share the finished product with you all!Did you notice the Mickey and Minnie tree skirt?? – courtesy of my Happy Aunt Tina, one of the most magical women I know!!
One of my favorite things about our tree this year are these ornaments…
There’s a whole set that shares the Christmas story from Luke 2.
A friend of mine gave me a set for Christmas last year and it has blessed me so much. I love looking at our tree and reading about Jesus’ amazing birth.
Not to mention they are super cute.
Click the image below to find out how to purchase some for your tree. (Note – These ornaments are definitely not magical in price, but even just one is a precious addition to your tree.)
Here are a few more pictures of our tree…
My other favorite thing about our tree is that it makes glitter get EVERYWHERE. I am not even kidding when I say that our home is literally BATHED in gold sparkly-wonderness all December long.
I purposely don’t vacuum this month.
Even the Happy Buddy likes it – if you look closely at the picture above he is sitting to the left of the tree, playing with the glitter in the rug.
We also do the old German tradition where you hide a pickle ornament on your tree.
You can find a pickle ornament for your tree HERE.
The Happy Hubby and I take turns hiding it every year.
It’s my turn this year. 🙂
What are some of your favorite things about your Happy Home’s Christmas tree?

It looks great Julie! I hate the break it to you… the German pickle ornament thing… not true. I’ve asked some Germans (who asked more Germans), they’ve never heard of it before! We joke now that they realized they cute dupe the Americans, and that is how this pickle propaganda got started! They sell them at all the Christmas markets here. Oh well… 🙂 Enjoy the season! Miss you!

I change my light theme each year…this year I chose Purple lights…my favorite color with a white lights going down the trim of the tree to off set the contrast of the purple and silver garland.

I am in LOVE with those ornaments!!! And you’re right, the price is definitely not magical, more like astronomical – haha! We do the pickle thing too, only I hide it on the tree on December 1st before I go to bed, and the first kid to find it in the morning gets to hide it that night. We do that until Christmas morning! We are also waiting to see if our elf comes back this year!! : )

I love the way you do the pickle ornament! Magic the whole month long! Love you, friend!

It is our baby’s 18th Christmas this year. So with that said she and her dad are in charge of the tree. They are getting a real one this year. I usually put up the Christmas tree up after Thanksgiving too. But this year they are getting a real tree. I just hope they don’t get the one I am allergic to! I try and change out our decorations each year. I have been buying each child a set of ornaments for them. Our daughter is snowmen out son is Santa. Then when they leave the house they take there collection..this way they will always have a part of us with them durring the hollidays. This year I am making decorations for the tree. In the past when the kids where young I did a army men tree (my husband was in the Army), a cookie tree (not much left by christmas) and so on… The time goes so fast. You have a while yet but treasure the moments as they come…I hope you and your family have a great Christmas!!
