This was a really fun and simple craft that the Happy Buddy and I did the other day.
I think the Happy Buddy especially enjoyed it because he got to use one of his toy cars!
Materials Needed:
Shallow pan
White paper
Pencil
Scissors
Red Paint
Toy car (marbles or rubber toy balls would work as well!)
Step 1 – Use the pencil to draw a candy cane shape on the white paper and then cut it out.
Step 2 – Place the candy cane in the pan.
Step 3 – Add a couple of squirts of red paint.
Step 4 – Start rolling the car through the paint and over the cut out candy cane (or if using marbles/balls, tilt the pan back and forth so that the balls roll through the paint and over the candy cane).
Step 5 – Let dry.
There they are! Aren’t they cute?
Mine is the one on the left – the Happy Buddy’s is on the right.
When I showed the Happy Hubby our craft when he got home from work he smiled and commented, “Yours looks like a candy cane. But the Happy Buddy’s looks like it is the scene of a crime.”
🙂

This is such a fun idea! What kid wouldn’t love doing this craft? Your hubby’s comment gave me a good laugh. 🙂

Just wanted to say thank you for all the practical easy craft ideas. Our sons are near the same age so it is nice to have the ideas hand delivered to me each week! Thanks again!

I let my son make these for his ornament that he gives to family this year. He makes one each year for them. It was fun and easy and didn’t take him long (since he is older) which is what I needed! I laminated them and punched a hole and tied a red string to them.
