Friends! I have a fun tip to share with you today!
We have lived in our Happy Home for about 8 years.
In all these 8 years, I have never once (EVER) cleaned the grout on the tile floor in the bathroom.
Eek! I can’t believe I even shared that with you! 🙂
I was recently set free from something that was taking up A LOT of my time.
(More on that coming soon!)
And would you believe that the first thing I wanted to do with that time was CLEAN MY GROUT?
This is the glamorous life, I tell yah. 🙂
I saw this tip on Pinterest and got super excited about it because it seemed so quick and easy.
Did you know that you can use a Clorox Bleach Pen to clean your grout?
Simply paint the grout with the pen, let it sit a few minutes, then scrub it with a brush.
Wipe it clean with a towel and you’re done!
And now let’s put them side by side.
Doesn’t that just give you goosebumps?!
The whole bathroom took me about 30 minutes.
Who knew clean grout could make a person so happy?
That’s it.
I would imagine that y’all already have awesome grout-cleaning wisdom, but I couldn’t help but share this bit of new news to me with all my favorite friends (you!). 🙂
Happy Grout Clean-ing!
*Note – Please only use this tip if you have WHITE grout. :-)*

this is genius, i have a lot of it to clean.

Please only use this on white grout, it will ruin your colored grout. I use Tech grout cleaner in a spray bottle for my colored grout.

Thank you for the great advice, Monica! I am so glad you made the grout color specification… yikes! Would never want to lead my readers astray! Thanks for stopping by the Fairy! 🙂

Yay! Thanks for sharing because there is tile in three different areas of my home. What a cool unique secret!

I have bleach in a spray bottle. I spray the area, and it disappears all on its own!!

We are laying new tile in our lanai this week (just so I don’t have to clean the grout!) Really, the Before and After pictures on Weight Watchers is MUCH more exciting than this…haha.

Now that you have cleaned the grout you have to seal it. I’m not sure of the name of the roduct but you can get 1 year or 5 year seal. If you don’t seal it water will work through causing damage and the grout will lift as well. Date: Wed, 29 May 2013 01:20:50 +0000 To: [email protected]

I have got to try it. I am not saying how long it has been since I did mine! Can’t wait to see the difference in our bathroom.

Oh my goodness! I am almost 7 months pregnant and read your blog yesterday! So of course all I dreamt about last night was cleaning grout!

My bathroom tiles were a sight for sore eyes: the grout was stained and looked a bit filthy. Sadly I couldn’t afford to replace the grout for the entire bathroom. I found out about Nugrout products and decided to give it a try. I am amazed by how new my bathroom now looks with the new grout color, and how affordable the entire process was. Check out their website at http://www.nugrout.com, I highly recommend them.

Aw…I have been doing that for years. It’s very useful. Another secret? If you are using white solid top as your kitchen surface, you can also use the bleach pen to restore to its former glory. 😉
