If you stopped by yesterday, you saw my post about Advent Calendars.
So far, we have four in our house and I’m thinking we might need a fifth… Ha! The hubs came into the kitchen yesterday and was like, “How many of these things do we have to keep up with every day?”
🙂
But in all of my Advent Calendar Internet searching, I couldn’t find anything that had a printable of little cards to put in each Advent pocket that featured Bible Verses from the Christmas story.
I feel it is incredibly important to keep Jesus the center of the Christmas season… His birth is the beginning of the Gospel story – the very story that sets before us forgiveness of sins, restored relationship with our Father, and joy everlasting.
So every day this December I want to read a Scripture verse to my kids telling of Jesus’ miraculous birth.
I want them to be drawn to the wonder of Christmas.
The wonder of Christ.
I have designed a FREE Printable for you so that by the end of the month you will have 24 cards depicting the story of Jesus’ birth – from the angel telling Mary that she would be Jesus’ mommy, to the three wise men’s journey, I hope you enjoy celebrating the real reason for the season with your families every day this month.
I even included some cute ideas on the 2nd page of what to do with the cards in case you don’t have an Advent Calendar (or you could just come to my house and have one of mine). 🙂
Here is a sneak peak at your FREE Printable Advent Cards…

Thank you for these wonderful Advent Scriptures. You have saved me from having to do them myself. The ones you have done are adorable with the decorative ornaments on them. Thanks, again!

Hi Julie, I tried to print your free children’s advent calendar and it kept printing very small (not full page). I tried another website that offered it also, but it only allowed one page ( Dec. 1-16) and not the second page (Dec. 17-25). I downloaded the Doc to pdf App, but could not locate your file, even though I saved it on pdf. I am a bit technically challenged, please HELP! PS. What S. Fl church do you attend? I am also a S. Floridian (now living in S. Carolina). My church in Miami is Christ Fellowship.

Thank you so much for sharing this. When I was growing up we didn’t do advent calendars, I guess due to the denomination. This year I have been really feeling convicted about how our family celebrates Christmas and I have decided we are going to do things differently this year. The precious gift of Jesus will be the spotlight. I am going to use the verses you provided though I am not sure in what form yet. I have so enjoyed following your blog. Thank you for taking the time to share with others.
Happy Home Fairy
Laurie – I just loved getting your comment. I feel the same way! God has really been convicting my heart this year about making His birth the primary focus of our celebrating. Your words encouraged me so much – thank you for stopping by and keep on stopping by because I will be posting LOTS more Christ-centered activities this season! 🙂 God bless you and your family!

God bless you this season.

Our advent calendar has quickly turned into a “what’s next” present each day with emotions running too high if the little gift wasn’t up to snuff. I almost said forget it and then thought this morning how I wanted to include a bible verse each day leading to Jesus’ birth! And found your blog! Better than I could have ever done! Many Thanks to moms that think alike!
Happy Home Fairy
Tami, what an encouraging comment! I am so happy that the Advent Cards will bless your Happy Home. You are a wonderful mom!

This is wonderful! Thank you so very much. I buy an Advent calendar for my class each year. However, this year, I could only find non-Christian calendars in my local supermarket, therefore I will be supplementing this in exchange! God Bless! Merry Advent Season.

I know you shared this in 2010 but I just found it in a google search. I adore this printable sheet of verses! Each year I am getting a little more organized for our Advent tradition and will be using these this year! Thank you for sharing this 🙂
Lori
Thank you. I’m always looking for “new” advent ideas. I think my elf will be delivering these this year!
Lindsey
Thank You!!! I could kiss you right on the mouth! I have been searching for something exactly like this and all I could find were from Mormon blogs, which don’t really apply to me 🙂

Thank you for sharing these! I love them and they’re the perfect way to focus on what the season is really about!
Laura
Thank you for these! My little guy will be having his first visit from the Elf this year but I wanted to incorporate the real reason for Christmas so having the Elf bring a tag with a new verse every day will be excellent! On the opposite side of the tag I plan on putting a winter/Christmas activity for us to do that day, too. I also added one more tag for Dec 25 from James 1:17, “Every good and perfect gift is from above”. Thanks again for your ideas!
Angie
Thank you so much! These are perfect…God bless you for sharing this wonderful gift to our family.

Thank you! I’m finishing up on my advent origami boxes tonight. With gluten dairy free kids I have not been able to give them a calendar. Besides those calendars are gimicky and the chocolates are horrible.
Now I can put a note, a small treat and an easy to understand message that will remind them that Christmas is really Christ’s Mass – not a time to collect toys.

Thank you for the Advent Calendar Scripture Cards. I had just sat down with a Bible to start writing my own when I decided to look online. Yours are beautiful and it is lovely to think that all of the mums who have posted here are using them with their families. I can now convert the secular advent calendar that my mother-in-law bought for the children in to something a bit more meaningful without causing offence!
Many thanks
Eric Courser
Thankyou so much for these advent versus. They are going to be perfect for my 2 year old son. My God greatly bless you this year. Eric

Hi, We are using your material here: http://www.dicashomeschooling.com/2015/12/participe-de-nosso-advento-de-natal.html
Thanks for sharing
Laura
These are great little Scripture verses. They’re also nice because they’re brief enough to hold the little ones’ attention.
They just don’t seem very Advent-y. (Is that a word?) Our family celebrates Advent in PREPARATION for Christmas. The angels, for example, could not have possibly told the shepherds of Jesus’ Birth (December 25th) until after He was born.
Your Scripture verses are cute, but I just disagree with your calendar.
Blessings!
Happy Home Fairy
Hi Laura! You are totally right about the word Advent being about a preparation for our Lord’s coming! I guess I am thinking about the word Advent in the sense of the weeks leading up to Christmas – a countdown in a way. My heart really just wanted to get the story of His birth into the hands of as many people as I could! I am sorry that it doesn’t fit for your family! I would love to hear what you come up with for yours!
Laura
We do a Jesse Tree. Every Advent day, we read a Bible story, leading up to Christ’s birth. We hang a symbol associated with the story on the tree each day, (For example, an Earth for Creation, an apple for Adam and Eve, etc.) On Christmas Eve, we have a nativity scene ornament and read the birth and shepherds part. We put Jesus in our manger. It’s Christmas!
I didn’t mean to sound harsh. I very much like your idea of a short Bible reading for every day of Advent. My little ones sometimes loose patience with the longer stories. It’s just that your verses don’t really fit in with the way we celebrate Advent as anticipatory. We do celebrate the 12 Days, so we concentrate on the actual Christmas story then. An anticipatory Advent and then 12 Days is an older tradition than celebrating Jesus’ birth beforehand. Either way, the true meaning is Jesus’ birth. And this activity does focus on Him and He is the most important.
Blessings.

Thank-you so much for this, I make an advent calendar every year for my wife and one for my boy. They will love this.
God bless you and have a wonderful Christmas.
Amities,
Jean-Michel
:-)
I put “24 advent scriptures” into Google and this was top of the list! I am so pleased that others also want to keep Christ as the centre of Christmas. I have a little boy and it is important to me that he knows the story of Christmas. When I was little advent calendars told the story of Christmas each day, it’s something I’d like to continue, I think it makes the season extra special and I look forward to making memories with my children. 🙂 xx
Phoebe
Thankyou! This was exactly what I was after!

THANK YOU! This is awesome. We’re building a Community Countdown to Christmas Advent Calendar in the Parish with shoe box “windows” to open, all themed around Christmas Carols or Christmas Songs and we wanted to add a bible verse to each box to tell the Christmas story as we open each window. These have been a huge help. Thank you!!
Esmé
Thank you so much for this. I am very grateful.

I just had to say THANK YOU! These little cards are exactly what I was looking for to put in our Advent calendar – they’re perfect for kids, just the right length/size, and you even shared them for free (didn’t even ask for my email address or to subscribe)! What a gift. Advent blessing to you and yours 🙂
