Bible Verse Advent Cards – FREE PRINTABLES!

*CHECK OUT MY NEWLY UPDATED VERSION OF THESE CARDS HERE!*

If you stopped by yesterday, you saw my post about Advent Calendars.

So far, we have four in our house and I’m thinking we might need a fifth… Ha!  The hubs came into the kitchen yesterday and was like, “How many of these things do we have to keep up with every day?”

🙂

But in all of my Advent Calendar Internet searching, I couldn’t find anything that had a printable of little cards to put in each Advent pocket that featured Bible Verses from the Christmas story.

I feel it is incredibly important to keep Jesus the center of the Christmas season…  His birth is the beginning of the Gospel story – the very story that sets before us forgiveness of sins, restored relationship with our Father, and joy everlasting.

So every day this December I want to read a Scripture verse to my kids telling of Jesus’ miraculous birth.

I want them to be drawn to the wonder of Christmas.

The wonder of Christ.

I have designed a FREE Printable for you so that by the end of the month you will have 24 cards depicting the story of Jesus’ birth – from the angel telling Mary that she would be Jesus’ mommy, to the three wise men’s journey, I hope you enjoy celebrating the real reason for the season with your families every day this month.

I even included some cute ideas on the 2nd page of what to do with the cards in case you don’t have an Advent Calendar (or you could just come to my house and have one of mine). 🙂

Here is a sneak peak at your FREE Printable Advent Cards…

Hi Julie, I tried to print your free children’s advent calendar and it kept printing very small (not full page). I tried another website that offered it also, but it only allowed one page ( Dec. 1-16) and not the second page (Dec. 17-25). I downloaded the Doc to pdf App, but could not locate your file, even though I saved it on pdf. I am a bit technically challenged, please HELP! PS. What S. Fl church do you attend? I am also a S. Floridian (now living in S. Carolina). My church in Miami is Christ Fellowship.

Thank you so much for sharing this. When I was growing up we didn’t do advent calendars, I guess due to the denomination. This year I have been really feeling convicted about how our family celebrates Christmas and I have decided we are going to do things differently this year. The precious gift of Jesus will be the spotlight. I am going to use the verses you provided though I am not sure in what form yet. I have so enjoyed following your blog. Thank you for taking the time to share with others.

My little guy will be having his first visit from the Elf this year but I wanted to incorporate the real reason for Christmas so having the Elf bring a tag with a new verse every day will be excellent! On the opposite side of the tag I plan on putting a winter/Christmas activity for us to do that day, too. I also added one more tag for Dec 25 from James 1:17, “Every good and perfect gift is from above”. Thanks again for your ideas!

These are great little Scripture verses. They’re also nice because they’re brief enough to hold the little ones’ attention.
They just don’t seem very Advent-y. (Is that a word?) Our family celebrates Advent in PREPARATION for Christmas. The angels, for example, could not have possibly told the shepherds of Jesus’ Birth (December 25th) until after He was born.
Your Scripture verses are cute, but I just disagree with your calendar.

Hi Laura! You are totally right about the word Advent being about a preparation for our Lord’s coming! I guess I am thinking about the word Advent in the sense of the weeks leading up to Christmas – a countdown in a way. My heart really just wanted to get the story of His birth into the hands of as many people as I could! I am sorry that it doesn’t fit for your family! I would love to hear what you come up with for yours!

        December 1, 2015 at 5:20 pm

We do a Jesse Tree. Every Advent day, we read a Bible story, leading up to Christ’s birth. We hang a symbol associated with the story on the tree each day, (For example, an Earth for Creation, an apple for Adam and Eve, etc.) On Christmas Eve, we have a nativity scene ornament and read the birth and shepherds part. We put Jesus in our manger. It’s Christmas!

I didn’t mean to sound harsh. I very much like your idea of a short Bible reading for every day of Advent. My little ones sometimes loose patience with the longer stories. It’s just that your verses don’t really fit in with the way we celebrate Advent as anticipatory. We do celebrate the 12 Days, so we concentrate on the actual Christmas story then. An anticipatory Advent and then 12 Days is an older tradition than celebrating Jesus’ birth beforehand. Either way, the true meaning is Jesus’ birth. And this activity does focus on Him and He is the most important.
        Blessings.

Galatians 5:13 says, “For you were called to be free, brothers and sisters; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.”

The Lord gave us some helpful instructions on freedom and we are very much in need of them! May we set our gaze not on division and fighting, but on asking God how we can be a part of the solution - small, faithful acts of Spirit-led love every day to the people in our world.

It is here in America where we can freely and confidently respond to Zion’s request to gather as a family in the living room to pray for the leg pains he has been having. We can bake muffins in our kitchens, leave surprises at someone’s doorstep, share a Bible verse with the grocery store employee, and worship on Sunday with friends.

These freedoms were purchased at a great cost, as many chose to lay down their lives in an ultimate act of love. May we remember. And may that remembering lead us right back to Galatians 5:13 and Jesus’ ultimate act of love. This holy inspiration is what we need to rise each day in humble gratitude for freedom in Christ to pour out, serve, and build His kingdom here on earth!

Happy Birthday America! 🥳

Happiest of birthdays, bruh! 😎
  • Just really grateful that everyone is smiling! We love you, Hollywood Beach! ☀️🌊🌴
  • This passage really encouraged me recently! It comes from Jeremiah 17:7-8.

I’m drawn to passages that describe the fruit of a person who loves and trusts God. This is what we are offered every single day in Christ! But I definitely don’t *feel* fruitful, steady, and confident every single day! I am often tossed around by my circumstances, ruled by my emotions, distracted by worldly pleasures, and basically overthinking everything in the universe.

Interesting that the verses just before it say,

“Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength…he shall not see when good comes…”

Maybe we get so focused on what everyone around us has or is doing that we miss standing confident on all the good he is sending into our own lives. We grasp at “if onlys” and “what ifs” so regularly that we are paralyzed to see good or do any good for Him.

Put your hope in God! Look at Him! Command your soul to remember. Stop scrolling. Look your people in the eye. Do something kind for someone! Choose to not be the main character! Tell the overthinking part of your brain to be quiet and thank God instead. Even when it is hard! Deep roots are never formed without some struggle.

This is where we get to be blessed, sisters. Trusting in Jesus (even when it looks a little desperate and needy) will produce strong, fruitful, and confident women in the Lord! 💛🧡❤️💙🩵💚
  • My parents are moving. 😢

The last 2 weeks have been so sweet. Just soaking up time together… in their home… for the last time.

It’s weird to see everything empty, but if there’s one thing I have learned, it is that home is where your mom and dad are! It has little to do with spaces and decor and everything to do with hearts and spirits.

May we all create homes of love and light and warmth. ✨It travels with you wherever you have to go.✨

I’m grateful they won’t be too far away. And they are already planning to come back for a visit in 2 weeks. 😂

Love you so much, Mom and Dad. You are forever my home! ❤️‍🩹
  • I don’t always share my fries when they ask. It’s been a long time since I’ve stuck a note in their lunch boxes. I handed over a load of stinky laundry that I let sit too long before moving to the dryer for them to put away because I didn’t have the energy to rewash it. I am not the best listener when I am stressed. I sometimes cry in front of them listening to worship on the way to work because I’m desperate and needy. I fuss about the level of mess in the house almost daily.

I am not a perfect mom. Most days I’m tired and feel like I am failing.

But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever!

If I had to stand on one thing in motherhood it would be that I am certainly not enough, but Jesus is. He is filling in every gap. He is meeting every need I don’t. He is working and moving in spite of me. Praise God for that amazing grace! And He loves that I keep showing up and needing Him. He loves that I seek His face always. Even when I’m being fussy and wrestling with the parts of me that are selfish and wanting.

Because God is my shepherd - I won’t be wanting. I won’t be wanting to have the perfect home or perfect circumstances. May the Lord find me wanting and hungry for more of Him in my mothering. I hope they will see that hunger more than my hunger for fries. And I pray they will learn to hunger for Him, too.

**Only He can satisfy.**

Happy Mother’s Day, dear ones! God is enough for you! 💝

  • Woohoo! 🥳 The kids are at Grammie’s and we went to a wedding! Got to get dressed up, see Ryan rock it as the “professional officiant” (this is what the wedding coordinator called him), eat a free steak, and even dance a little! 💃🏼🪩

My favorite thing that Ryan said during the ceremony was that God made Adam wait for Eve. He paraded all the Mr. and Mrs. animals in front of him long enough until Adam’s longing matched God’s good gift. The timing was then right, Adam was ready to fully appreciate and treasure his Mrs. “Man”.

To be honest, I almost didn’t attend the wedding with Ryan! I wasn’t feeling great and the idea of being home without kids all day to catch up on cleaning and laundry was pretty appealing. But the little nudge in me said DO NOT MISS THIS. I wanted to hear Ryan’s message and watch him lead this precious couple’s ceremony. I knew it was important to him that I be there. So because I treasure him, I went.

And I wasn’t the only one treasuring today! Ryan thanked me for coming with him, he danced with me even though I knew he would rather die than be on the dance floor, and he let me run into the store on the way home to end the day with some chocolate.

So here’s to treasuring one another - looking first to your spouse’s interests before your own, being their biggest fan, and telling them they look super hot in the fancy suit.

I mean, after all, he is a professional. 😁

🎉 NOAH is 16! 🎉

Writing this while you are playing a game of hockey with your little brothers in the living room - because you are awesome and love making your little brothers happy. You are commentating the entire game, complete with buzzer sound effects and crowd cheers. 🥅🏒📣

Moving to a new school this year was not easy. We had some hard times, some big disappointments, some dreams crushed… but you didn’t give up. You kept showing up, believing good is always on the way in God’s plans. And sure enough, you’ve made some new friends, discovered a new passion for running, gave it your all, and even rocked a mullet. 😅

You are strong, creative, full of integrity, purity, wit, fun, wisdom, care, responsibility, discernment, intelligence, and love. We could not be more proud of you!!! ❤️🧡💛

My parents are moving.

I don’t always share my fries when they ask.

✝️💐HAPPY EASTER💐✝️

Easter 2025 Thoughts >>

Been off of social media for Lent and it’s been amazing. Never underestimate the power of a good fast. There is fullness of the Lord to be had! 🙌🏻

This morning we woke up early for Easter service rehearsal. But one kiddo wouldn’t get out of bed, one kiddo was crying about having to wear a collared shirt, one experimented with some Easter basket goodies in the bathroom without my knowledge and there was a strange purple substance all over everything just as we really needed to get out the door, and one was dealing with an upset stomach the whole drive to church.

Meanwhile I’m yelling at everyone to JUST BE HAPPY BECAUSE JESUS IS RISEN!!!!!

I wish it hadn’t taken me this long in motherhood to learn that the chaos and mess and poop emergencies are the real stuff of life. You can wallow in the badness of it all on such a special morning, or you can remember that all the crazy is really why He came to do what He did. To offer PEACE in the chaos, JOY in the mess, a steady heart when someone’s about to have an accident in the car in their Easter outfit (that they hate anyways).

Joy comes in the morning, friends, and joy comes in the MOMENT. He died and rose again to make sure of it.

God bless you! ✝️💐🙌🏻😁

Joy comes in the morning, friends, and joy comes in the MOMENT. He died and rose again to make sure of it. God bless you! ✝️💐🙌🏻😁

Woohoo!
