One of my favorite things to do is create moments for others that bring an unexpected happy surprise to their day!
Many of us have invitations to holiday parties this season, so while you are at the host’s house, here are 5 different ways you can leave a little magic behind to spread Christmas cheer.
Surprise Ornament
Bring a brand new ornament to the host’s house and during the party sneak it onto their Christmas tree. When the host is taking their tree down after Christmas, they will find it and wonder where it came from!
Surprise Bathroom Decor
Go to the Dollar Tree and purchase some Christmas window clings. While visiting someone’s house, sneak into the bathroom and hang the window clings on the bathroom mirror. I did this to my best friend’s house a few years ago – you can see it HERE!
Surprise Stocking Note
Before the party, write an encouraging note for the host and slip it into his/her stocking without them seeing. You could even sign the card From Santa. I once did this at our pastor’s house for every person’s stocking in their whole family and it was SO FUN. They found the notes on Christmas morning and everyone was shocked!
Surprise Doormat
Head to Target and pick up a Christmas-y outdoor doormat. Leave it at the host’s front door as you head out for the night! We love to Ding Dong Doormat Ditch!
Surprise Dish Towel
Pick up a Christmas-themed dish towel and slip onto the handle of your host’s stove. Your host will love a fun new place to dry their hands and party platters. A great way to bring a smile to your host while they are cleaning up.
It’s the simple joys, friends! Pick one of these and then go do it! You don’t even have to be invited to a party! Just pop by a neighbor’s house and have your kids sneak around and do the magic while you and your neighbor are chatting. Not creepy at all. 😉
Merry Magic Christmas!
Joyfully,
Julie 🙂
