Does anyone else still use CDs?
The other day Mr. B. made a comment about how I am so archaic in my CD listening ways.
I can’t help it! I love having a hard copy on hand.
Anyway, I thought I would share with you the 3 books I am excited about reading in 2016 and also a CD that I am LOVING right now (imagine me saying ‘CD’ with my spectacles and white hair).
The Ministry of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson
When I shared my favorite parenting books post (see it HERE), someone recommended that I read this book. I have read several posts by Sally Clarkson and love her gentle wisdom. I am excited to find more ways to communicate the Gospel to my kiddos through the gift of motherhood.
Grace-Based Parenting by Tim Kimmel
This was another book that someone recommended to me after THIS POST. I feel like I perpetually struggle with being more inclined to respond to my children with law instead of grace, so I am looking forward to Dr. Kimmel’s encouragement.
Women of the Word: How to Study the Bible with Both Our Hearts and Our Minds by Jen Wilken
I just started this book and HOLY COW. It is REVOLUTIONIZING the way I read God’s Word. I can’t wait to dig in some more! Seriously, it’s almost shocking some of the things Jen has pointed out about common ways we can misinterpret when reading the Bible. I am humbled and convicted and eager to discover how I can go deeper in my study of Scripture!
This group is not a Christian group, but their CD is SO. MUCH. FUN. For starters, Pentatonix is a group that performs all of their music with JUST VOCALS. *No instruments at all.* One of the members of the group uses his voice to sound like percussion. It’s pretty much AMAZING and you will have lots of kitchen dance parties with your kids while cooking dinner.
What’s on your reading or listening list this year?
– Julie 🙂
