Holy cow I had THE BEST time making this Easy Christmas Tree Craft with the Happy Buddy the other day!
I think I had even more fun than he did – ha!
I wasn’t even going to blog about this craft (I have been seeing it fly around Pinterest and thought we’d give it a go), but when we finished making our first tree, I got so excited about it I went back and did a second tree, snapping tutorial shots along the way (this is why you don’t see my favorite little craft helper).
Green Construction Paper
Colored Tissue Paper, cut into squares
Step 1 – Fold the green paper in half hot dog style. Use a pencil to draw the outline of a half of a Christmas tree.
Step 2 – Cut the Christmas tree out.
Step 3 – While the paper is still folded, punch holes all over the tree. Unfold.
Step 4 – Use the glue stick to add glue all around the holes on one side of the tree.
Step 5 – Place various colored tissue paper squares over the holes.
Step 6 – Flip the Christmas tree over once the back is covered with tissue paper squares and the glue has dried.
Step 7 – Hang in the window and enjoy seeing how the sun ‘lights up’ the tree – giving it a lovely glow.
Don’t you love this?!
And couldn’t be easier.

And speaking of Christmas trees…
Did you know that the Evergreen Tree is a symbol of the everlasting life we have in Christ? Apparently, the evergreen tree is always green – it does not become dormant in the winter, like most other trees. When a person follows Jesus, his or her life is never dormant – it is always full of life! John 6:33 says, “He gives life to the world…”
On top of that awesome truth, the needles of an evergreen tree are pointing up – a symbol of our hands raised in worship to the King of Kings.
Just thought you might want to share that with your Happy Buddies in between gluing tissue paper squares.
Merry Easy Christmas Tree Craft-ing!
