Big Boy Room

16 Sep

When we found out that we were prego with the Happy Baby, we knew we wanted to keep the nursery for him and convert the Happy Hubby’s Man Cave (I am so sorry for your loss, my love) into a super awesome Big Boy Room.

The Happy Buddy’s nursery was peaceful and pretty (you can see some pics of it HERE).

But I wanted his new room to be an explosion of fun and color – just like his little personality.

See that fan?  That’s the Happy Buddy’s white noise to help him sleep.

The only white noise the Happy Baby has is the Happy Buddy running around the house, banging on things, yelping praise songs, and crashing into the walls (not kidding).  Isn’t that how things roll with the 2nd kid? :-)

Friends, I am so thankful that I have you to share stuff like this with!

I have been so excited about how the Lord helped the Happy Buddy’s big boy room come together.

And tomorrow I get to share something even more exciting with you…

My very first official GIVEAWAY at Happy Home Fairy!

One lucky reader is going to receive a FREE 16×20 Photo Canvas from Easy Canvas Prints.

See you tomorrow!

Happy Big Boy Room-ing! :-)

Fantastic! Funny how I recognised all the Ikea things from half a world away (Perth, Australia!) My boys have some of those things too. Well done….and absolutely no judgement on the paci after the last 6 months you have had! Love your ideas!

Love all the bright colors, Julie. What a GREAT room for your happy boy!

I love it! He will surely enjoy his big boy time in his room. I am expecting my third, which is a boy, so this gets me excited for all that we can do ( I really appreciate the references on where everything was from). I am also in charge of designing our new church nursery, so I may be incorporating some of your cute ideas in there too. We keep you in our prayers.

OMG! You did a fabulous job with your son’s room. Being a single mom of two, and after being. Domestic engineer for many years I am back in the teaching field but as a new teacher for salary. I wish I had the means to decorate my children’s room like this.
You could be a design consult on the side.
Thanks for sharing your pictures to inspire others.

    Sincerely,
    Amy

We’re big boy rooming here, too, and I wondered where you found the great traffic light art? I love Happy Buddy’s room! Now, to finish my little guy’s quilt before it’s cold enough to need more than a sheet! :)

Sweet Helen, a dear friend of mine from our church painted it for the Happy Buddy! I’d love to see how your guy’s room turns out! Kudos for actually MAKING his quilt! I can’t even sew a button! :-)

You did an awesome job on the Happy Buddy’s room. I love it and I’m sure he does too. :) You have a great eye for detail. All of those special touches really make a room. Your friend’s painting is terrific. Does she sell her artwork anywhere? I’ve never been to Ikea or Homegoods, but can see that I need to remedy that. lol Blessings and hugs!!!

Awesome job! Did the Happy Buddy help or was it a surprise? I bet he loves playing in such a great space! Wish you could come help me brainstorm ideas for my kids’ room. We recently took down the nursery decor and have blank walls. You’ve inspired me to finish. :)

The room is such a fun one. Love all of the colors. It is fun to create a new room. Every once in a while you realize it is time for a change because they out grow what you’ve done. Great stuff.

YOUR creativity and joy explodes in this room with the splash of color we all know you have! I think the Happy Buddy has inherited your sparkling personality, but ANY kid would be delighted with this room and be truly a “HAPPY” kid in there! Great job, Julie.
P.S. Have shared your fantastic blog with dozens of people!

body{font-family: Geneva,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:9pt;background-color: #ffffff;color: black;}o.k. my daughter had a pacifier until she was 14…better than dirty fingers in the mouth or nail biting…

Hi! Could you tell us the name of the brand and color you used for the wall? The gray offsets the bright accents beautifully.

    • Happy Home Fairy February 20, 2013 at 5:56 pm #

Letty, I will ask my husband… but i think it was thundercloud gray by benjamin moore…
