Boy, am I glad we ended up with the bald eagle.
Bald Eagles are pretty awesome. And pretty inspiring, too!
The only thing I find inspiring about the turkey is that it makes me hungry.

Finally, it’s no wonder the bald eagle is not only our national bird, but also God Himself recognizes it a few times throughout Scripture.
After all, the eagle is a bird who, instead of ducking for cover in a storm, starts flying above the clouds.

I’ve heard that Franklin wanted the Turkey because Eagles are predators and Turkeys aren’t. It was actually a way of cementing a pacifist position for our country. I don’t mind the Eagle because of how the Bible uses them. Plus, there are times to be militaristic; just we shouldn’t take over others.
