Prayer Around the Christmas Tree

Words just can’t describe the joy and magic of Christmas morning.

The twinkling lights on the tree.

The brightly wrapped packages underneath.

Your Happy Buddies’ faces filled with awe and wonderment.

The smell of Breakfast Casserole or sticky buns in the oven.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions that my family started several years ago on the morning of the 25th is one I pray yours will enjoy as well this year.

With all the sights and sounds of Christmas morning swirling around you, take a moment (before the tornado of wrapping paper and ribbons hits) to join hands as a Happy Home around your tree and say a prayer of thanks.

God gave us Jesus at Christmas – the greatest gift of all.

What a precious act of worship your family can participate in by choosing to set aside immediate desires of the flesh (opening gifts) and giving thanks to the One who provided them all in the first place! :-)

It doesn’t have to be a long, super amazing prayer – just something sweet and simple to say thanks for all He has given.

And especially for Jesus!

Merry Prayer Around the Christmas Tree-ing! :-)

The prayer before the gifts and reading the Christmas story has been a wonderful tradition at our house, the kids enjoy it as well. I think it is so good to get our minds on what is important about the day and the season. Thank you for all of the ways you have given us to keep our minds set on Jesus more and less on the busyness of the season. Thankful for you.

This is such a lovely idea! Seems like a no-brainer, but I never would have thought of it. Thanks for sharing this!
